Poor Chael is so confused…That is not what you are supposed to be thinking about to yourself when the image of “I’d tap that” comes to mind. I guess we are glad he did not consider her a knockout?

Not too smart to do that with a woman on camera -air heads get inspiration out of these things-

You all should see the next video where he teaches them the “Dirty Sanchez”, “Donkey Punch”, and the famed “Cleveland Steamer”.

That’s not how Vern Gagne performed “the sleeper”.

I remember BoDog fighting. I was watching that before it was cool to watch mixed martial arts. I loved it too because it was filmed in Costa Rica, where I studied.

They call it a sleeper hold in pro wrestling. The kimura/americana is called The Chicken Wing. Can’t think of many others.

@Basher – Watching mma has always been cool. :-) Some of the classic fights were happening 1999-2005. Prior to TUF, which is what really put it over in the US.

Bodog and the rise of the other small operators was a result of the ascension of the UFC post Griffin/Bonner.

Well I guess I need to educate you young guys again, the sleeper hold is not a choke, because you are squeezing the carotid arteries and not the throat.
A sleeper hold is very real, a catch wrestling move that predates jujitsu, seeing as Europeans traveled to Japan and taught them most of the grappling moves they later used in jujitsu, and later modified again when the emperor of Japan outlawed jujitsu teachings in favor of judo which was more realistic in real battle, and so a couple masters left and settled in Brazil and the USA, you can guess the rest.

Well I guess I will educate you on this, the sleeper hold is not a choke, because you are squeezing the carotid arteries and not the throat; hence not a RearNakedChoke.

Ramble time…
A sleeper hold is very real and applied all the time in MMA. A catch wrestling move that predates jujitsu, seeing as Europeans traveled to Japan hundreds of years ago and taught them a lot of the grappling moves they use in jujitsu and even learned some jujistu moves as well and implemented them into catch wrestling(they shared and mixed their martial arts, yes catch wrestling is a martial art), then later Japan modified again when the emperor of Japan outlawed jujitsu teachings in favor of judo which was much more useful in real battle, and so a couple stubborn masters sneaked out of Japan and settled in Brazil and the USA, you can guess the rest.

When will you people ever learn? Ok, I guess I will re-educate some of you about it. You see, the sleep hold is, in fact, not a choke hold. This is because you are occluding the carotid neck artery and not the throat.

A sleeper hold is very real and applied all the time in mixed martial arts and jiu-jitsu matches. This would be considered a catch wrestling move that predates jujitsu, as Europeans traveled to Asia thousands of years ago and taught them many of the grappling moves they use in jujitsu and even learned some jujistu moves as well and implemented them into catch wrestling(yes they shared and mixed their martial arts (MMA), and as we said before, yes catch wrestling is a martial art), then later it was modified again when the emperor of Japan outlawed jujitsu teachings in favor of judo which was and still is much more useful in real battle, and so a couple stubborn masters sneaked out of Japan and settled in Brazil and the USA, you can guess the rest.

Then why is a triangle a choke when it attacks the carotid? Doesnt matter whether its air or blood. chokes a choke. AND, technically…hes right. it puts people to sleep.

That history is completely wrong, stop posting the same nonsense under more than 1 username tool. This is how Sonnen got layed before he had a date r*** drug supplier. The only correct way to choke gilrs that look like that is with your knob
