Akiyama is a judo guy and Machida is karate. Akiyama can’t throw a kick to save his life, if he was in an action movie he’d just be hip tossing people for an hour and a half. Machida kind of makes sense, but still karate is nothing like kung fu. Cung Le has been in a few movies, but the guy can’t act for shit, so he’s out. Honestly, there is no one out there right now that can match the fight choreography that Jackie Chan is at. He’d basically us anything and everything around him to hurt people or to dodge being hurt, so it’s not just marital arts anymore, it’s full on creative thinking and stunt work. The question was comparing fighters to those actors not people like the rock who eventually learned how to act. The question referred to martial artists becoming movie stars.. Like li and chan Log in to Reply marvelous mad madam mim December 17, 2013 jet li is good actor because he is believable in his roles. the only real difference between good and bad actor is memorization. the true sign of a bad actor is when you can tell they’re waiting to deliver lines and/or looks like they are thinking about the lines. think of your favorite song, now think how you could sing it in 1000 different ways while swinging on a jungle him and without ever thinking about remembering the words. the words are buried deeply in your subconscious. in order to act good this is what you must do. simple Log in to Reply marvelous mad madam mim December 17, 2013 OT: I think GSP will be good. He is a weird moody loner type. His book sheds light on this. He not afraid of what others think which is another major trait you need to be good actor.
