Log in to Reply Yembo September 1, 2011 bitchweather will run and hide for 12 rounds and take the win. Log in to Reply Beast w/ 8 Limbs September 1, 2011 I would love to watch Ortiz clock Mayweather good, but who are we kidding? did you see how many times this guy gets dropped? He’s like a Chris Leben in that he banks on his punches being harder than his opponent’s and doesn’t rely on defense at all. Against a marathon runner like Mayweather, it’s not going to work. He wont touch him. Isn’t Mayweather supposed to be the best in the world? Is this the state of boxing in 2011? IS this the legacy he dreams of leaving? Log in to Reply SEAN_VANCE September 1, 2011 Unfortunately Gayweather is a boring counter puncher, and doesnt risk anything…so we all know how this is gona end Log in to Reply mr42069 September 1, 2011 mayweather isn’t shit. he’s a loudmouth who runs away every fight. he knows manny would knock his ass out and thats why he won’t fight him. Log in to Reply OverHandGoodNight September 1, 2011 Haters keep hating. This guy is exciting. What more do you want? Log in to Reply JJ September 1, 2011 completely, totaly and uterly uninterested in this mismatch. What’s the way to fight best p4p(sic!) boxer in the world? Being knocked out by Maidana, draw with Lamont Peterson and win with Andre Berto? Garbage fight I’m not willing to pay 0.5 of the penny to watch – I don’t even think I’ll watch replay here for free. The only reason this fight is being done is the fact both this fighters are associated with the same promoter – Golden Boy. What a ridiculous sport boxing has become. Log in to Reply waiting4titotoberelevantagain September 1, 2011 Wow, this is what Mayweather is fighting these days! What a joke. Boxing is awful and Ortiz is going to get worked over while he swings and misses all night. Log in to Reply vsmoove September 1, 2011 Ortiz sucks… Money will kill him… only remaining fight is with Pac but Pac is on the juice. Log in to Reply Arod September 1, 2011 mayweather doesnt want fighters that are in there prime he only fights people that are out of there prime are havent reached it yet the only way he fighs pacman is i ints int 2013 and pacman is becoming unintrested in boxing Log in to Reply dmfh1981 September 1, 2011 Pac aint on juice. Gayboy Mayweather knows that his perfect record will not be perfect after a fight with Pac. Mayweather hasnt even really fought anyone & when they offer him Pac, he requires that Pac takes 7 drug test before the fight? NO ONE asks for olympic drug tests unless their trying to get out of a fight, or trying to make thier opponent lose a lot of blood before the fight which COULD directly affect his performance. Bottom line is; Mayweather should see if Vans or DC Company can be added as one of his sponsors because this b*tch is a skater. He skates fights, talks a whole lotta sh*t, & only fights people that he KNOWS he can beat. BOXING IS DEAD…THE END Log in to Reply omar September 1, 2011 Mex Keller, HBO Boxing commentator: “I will say this about MMA fighters; I can gripe that Shane Carwin doesn’t have the stamina to have a high-output first round and not gas in the second but, at the end of the day, right now, there are a lot of MMA guys showing an old-school toughness and willingness to fight the best that boxers of today- calling each other out on Twitter and ducking in real life or “tweeting” about how they are the face of boxing while on vacation- seem to have lost. The positioning toward the weakest path of opposition is showing in boxing and it’s ugly. Fight a challenge, guys.” Log in to Reply omar September 1, 2011 I like Ortiz, he’s always in a good fight but I don’t see him winning. Mayweather will play it safe for 12 rounds and coast to unanimous victory and then brag about being the best and over-coming all odds, even beating the odds from his “tough” upbringing in the “hood”. He might even brag about his the 12 million dollar mansion that God blessed him with….he’s just keeping it “real” Log in to Reply JJ September 1, 2011 then he will drive around and hang out with his buddies, gamble in the casinos, beating some girls maybe, insulting people – all these things you want as an example for your kids. It’s unbelievable how far boxing slipped – I think there is no way out, it will stay around for long but become more and more fringe sport rather than HBO kind of thing. I’m surprised people are even watching this garbage….. Log in to Reply nocomeoahu September 1, 2011 Ortiz cant see that right…Mayweather by decision. Log in to Reply ruddo293 September 1, 2011 It’s a mismatch in the making. Ortiz will be fighting is heart out and will be getting countered all throughout the fight. You will never see mayweather against the ropes slugging it out taking punishment. Good luck trying to out box him in the center of the ring. Ortiz reminds me of a young, hungry fernando vargas. Log in to Reply joeyjojo September 2, 2011 love boxing. ortiz is hungry, mayweather is a master. personality-wise i hate mayweather…but his boxing is amazing to watch. it’s the same logic as saying ‘oh mma, that’s just two dudes hugging’…if you know what you’re watching, mma is awesome…so is boxing. Log in to Reply ETK September 2, 2011 Mayweather was supposed to fight Andre Berto. Berto was undefeated. Berto went and fought Victor Ortiz before fighting Mayweather. Mayweather was sitting rignside. Ortiz was supposed to lose. Ortiz’ record was unimpressive. Ortiz beat Berto, for the surprise upset, everybody was surprised and shocked at Ortiz’ tenacity, including Mayweather totally loved it. Ortiz beating Berto was an upset. It was a dramatic spectacle of peoples lives altering before your eyes. Now we have Mayweather vs Ortiz. I appreciate the fighting ability of both Ortiz and Mayweather (according to their abilities and knowledge). I don’t think Ortiz has the key to beating Mayweather. If you follow the history, weight changes, fight records, ko percentages, fighting styles, previous opponents, strengths and weaknesses, Berto should have beat Ortiz easily, but Ortiz had other plans that nobody expected, it was a joy to see, even Berto had to smile even while he was getting beat, even Mayweather had to smile even while he was possibly losing a planned fight, Emanuel Steward was so impressed that he said “nobody can beat Ortiz tonight” and that he would not want to look across the ring and see his fighter’s opponent with the look in the eyes that Ortiz had that night. Log in to Reply SEAN_VANCE September 2, 2011 Pacman already accepted the stupid drug testing Gayweather wanted, and he still said no… Gayweather wants to split the purse 90% Gayweather, 10% Pacman (not this dastric but u get the idea)… so pretty much fight is never gona happen because they make it impossible to negotiate. So now we got Pacman – Marquez 3 (boring) and youngster Ortiz against experienced decision master (boring). Thanks Gayweather for being so gay! Log in to Reply Jasonfn22 September 3, 2011 Another hand picked opponent for bluegum Mayweather and if they keep paying him big numbers for doing this shit he will continue to hand pick his opponents. They need to hand him a contract and tell him if he wants to fight at all he will fight who they choose under what conditions.Boxing is getting desperate when they start letting fighters dictate who does what for how much.
