Don’t think he was tapping, but on the other hand I think it was a decent stoppage…Yamasaki left it long enough and even if brock wasn’t doing power shots all the time I am sure they were doing damage.

does it matter? judge didnt stop the fight cause he thaught randy was tapping, but because randy was getting mauled and couldnt improve his position or defend himself properly

judge let randy have plenty of time to escape but he couldnt

Some of you guys must be halucinating. There was not tapping going on there. If there would have been the ref would have stopped it due to a tap out… but since there was NO TAPPING it was a TKO…which and please correct me if I am wrong here counts as a loss either way.
I will lose the very minute ampunt of respect I have for the UFC if they put a bunch of unworthy opponents in front of Lesnar just so the UFC can bank on the freak show. That is the only way Lesnar will keep the belt. It is going to be interesting in the next few weeks to see what happens. It really sucks that there has to be a promotion company involved to prevent fighters like Fedor, Arlovsky, Silvia. etc. from beating the piss out of Lesnar. Oh well, hopefully Mir or Big Nog will get a shot very soon so they can send him home squaling.

I think Couture was just overwhelmed and couldn’t do anything to improve his position. Looks like he was in a state of semi-consciousness not aware of what was going on. Appears that he might have been k.o’d and then rewoken by the shots he was taking. Nevertheless Lesnar proved to be too much for the veteran. A good match for Lesnar would Antonio “Junior” Silva. Battle of the giants.

idk…when i was watching the fight live, they showed a close up camera angle of Randy’s right hand when his arm was under Brocks’s and his hand was on Brocks upper back and it clearly showed a tapping gesture.

Now this may have been cause by Brocks movement.

But not even concerning this fight i have to disagree with some of you. Sometimes a ref misses it when someone taps,call the fight and its called a tako, they dont change it upon evalutation, not that ive seen.
Also if Randy did tap he prolly forgot sense he was knocked sensless.
What about the Anderson Silva travis Lutter fight? imo Travis tapped because of the strikes, but they called it a submission by triangle, just because Silva had him in a triangle position.
So if Randy was tappig or not i dont care and it doesnt show bad on Randy imo, i never intended to imply that it did.
I am a Randy fan, he gives hope and shows how much heart can help you to suceed,even though he didnt win against Brock the beast, he is still improving all the time.

Yeah and the ref did a good job. Im sure he realized the importance of this fight and he sure didnt want Randy fans to feel that it was an early stoppage.

Yamasaki did right in my book in this fight,now if it was any other fight i might say late stoppage.

There isnt enough video out on this, i guess i will have to wait till it comes out on dvd since i didnt record it so that i can show you the part where it zoomed in on the “tapping”.

The ufc video directors must have assumed he tapped by the way they zoomed in and slo mo-ed the tapping motion, as soon as i find a clip i will let y’all know.

No tap, and I tap my girlfriend’s a$$ harder than Brock hit Randy. I also put more force behind my strokes and move my arm more vigorously when I take care of myself when she isn’t around than Brock did with his little tippy tappy hammerfists right before the ref stopped it. Nice scam the three musketeers(Dana, Randy and Brock) pulled off. They fixed the fight and made some nice money thanks to the average gullible fan’s low IQ. Everybody goes on and on about how big Lesnar is but he is only 6′3, just an inch taller than Couture. The fact that he is overweight at 300 pounds from packing way to much bulky muscle on his frame by using steroids just makes him a stiffer less effective fighter. To hit hard you need to be fluid,loose, crisp and snap your punches in a whipping motion which is physiologically impossible for a rigid body builder type like Brock to do. I would like to have him hit a sensor to see how much force he is able to generate. I bet that there are 185 pound guys with proper technique who hit harder. Being all pumped up is just for show and to intimidate people who don’t know any better, which is most retards apparently. Anyone who isn’t a mongoloid knows that testing for performance enhancers is b.s. Once they ban a substance the makers of the drug change it just enough for it not to be detected. They are always one step ahead. Every Olympic/pro trainer and athlete knows that. If Brock wasn’t juicing he wouldn’t go into roid rage every time somebody asked him if he ever used. I’m about the same size as Couture and if I was famous enough that I only had to fight a few times and not even win every time before getting a title shot I would literally kill Lesnar if he was still champ by then. Does that make me a champion or even a world class fighter? HELL NO! Becoming the champion only proves something if you spend years working your way up through the ranks by taking a vow of poverty. Choosing to train full time instead of working a day job. Putting up with all of the dirty poltics. Training and fighting smart so that your body holds up so you are actually able to perform if you are ever lucky enough to get your title shot! In every combat sport there are coutless guys who could beat the champ if they were to fight right now but there aren’t very many who could beat the champ if they actually had to work there way up the ladder by fighting all of the contenders first! The fight game is so corrupt.

no tap…i can see where some people would mistake it for tapping but it’s Lesnar’s arm just bumping up against couture’s hand while he was pounding away on his face. But it’s clear that Lesnar had Couture beat. Kudos to Lesnar even though I was rooting for Couture…..and I agree that the UFC should get Fedor to come fight.

You are pretty friggin’ ignorant about the steroid issue. The athletic commissions test each fighter for substance abuse, not the UFC. Bonnar & Sherk were both suspended for steroids & so far Lesnar has not tested positive. Lesnar is not a great striker, but he has knocked down each fighter he has faced in the UFC.

no. it was not a tap. his body was moving with every hit. your arms would flail to if you were getting hit by a cinder block over and over. but it really doesnt matter. lesnar WILL be tapping when he fights noguerra

Damn! Not all of them landed, but Brock threw 34 hammerfists and 3 forearms(elbows) in 12 seconds. They were short little rabbit punches, but that’s a lot. I’ve said it before and I’ll say again, it was a GOOD STOPPAGE.
