Awesome!! No gloves, few rules. Old school Wanderlei. Well done to Van Arsdale too, he’s a stand out wrestler but tried a bit of striking before getting completely flattened!!!

*wow*that was one devestating kick (back of the neck). I see why they do not allow kicks like that in the “modern” version of MMA. Its scary to watch but incredible–no f*ckin gloves, no quick ref stoppage, no crowds booing cuz they work the mat…its a technical brawl between two damn real men. Good to see the roots of it all…

WANDY!!!! Classik vale tudo fight. Takes brass ball to fight in general, but even more impressive to fight in that type of venue similar to the old UFC and perhaps a must for any up-and-comming fighter to add to their resume.

Van Arsdale actually out of the 5 min or so, he actually was dominating. Didn’t even see a hit. All I seen was a kick in the back of the head to a down opponnet. Crazy
love the Old School also. But the new rules are much safer and make better fights

I agree that this is very raw and can be very exciting, the problem with Vale Tudo is that there is no timed rounds and if a fight is not finished quickly then the fights can become very slow and boring.
