Wanderlei represents everything that is good about mma, a exciting fighter, a great martial artist, and an even better human being. I am in two minds about silva retiring.This man has been in so many epic wars he just has nothing left to prove and it makes me sad when he gets hurt.

Hey Bruno!… Not sure if it’s my age, or the fact that I’ve been in and around MMA for more than a decade. But I really can’t read the comments any more. It’s all “he sucks, he’s gay, he’s fake, F*** him”, and wishing fighters either die or get really hurt in the ring…. I guess what I’m asking is, did I change or did the MMA fans change? Merry Christmas Bruno!

it may be annoying sifting through the bashing posts, but it’s good knowing we have younger people getting into the sport

@Gt03Champp – The sport is much more mainstream now. More fans = more douche bags. Same thing happened with comic books and hip-hop music.
I find it irritating the most when it’s someone I see post on here all the time, writing some dumb s#it that no one cares about or believes. Why waste your and our time.

Wanderlei Silva is a legend. This whole “can” jargon has got to go. In MMA, anyone can win in any fashion. Calling Matt Serra a “can” didn’t stop him from beating GSP, did it? Elvis Shembre from beating Sakuraba? Saku from beating Vitor? See the point. Love the sport, love the fighters, and it all starts with loving yourself. ;) ♠

@ericcson…You must be a bitter child or a bored troll…probably both!! Wanderlei was one of the most ferocious fighters in the Pride days..his fights with Rampage and Cro Cop were epic.I am still a fan of his > Wandy your a true warrior.

I love mma, to watch a sport grow so rapidly so quickly is super cool, and its all thanks to guys like wand who put on a good show and entertain the crowds, fighters these days are to cautious and boring in ther approach and the sport will suffer. Please stop crappy elbows from top position so wrestlers cant bore out a win with small elbow shots, they will then have to creat space for punches giving the guy on the bottom position a better sub or sweep chances

A shame that Wandy was brutally KOed by Cro Cop and Hendo at the end of Pride. Would have loved to have seen his chin, along with the technique and ferocity he still has, to have gone on a run in the UFC. A legend nonetheless that I’ll always be cheering for.
