Rich Franklin needs to retire, hes scared to get hit straight to the face now. After those face flattening knees that A. Silva did to him. He was just waiting for Vitor to woop him in that fight… Just retire new age of MMA is coming, avg fighters with nothing impressive to bring aint gonna make any name for themselves soon just like in boxing… only the Real top contenders will be known.

Franklin came with weak sauce. That’s why I like the eastern european style a lot better. They go full energy out the git go and overwhelm the opposition before they get a chance to warm up and find timing and range.

Franklin was done when he couldn’t hear Hume. Sad fight, just plain outclassed. Nothing wrong with his career, he’s only ever lost to THE best fighters around. I’d rather him retire after a song swan than stick around and take more punishment.
Let’s be real, this guy is a world class athlete and very intelligent. He’s not going back to the ghetto or a favela if he retires.

Very impressive! If Belfort keeps his head in place, he will go far.
I still think both Machida and A. Silva would beat him, just because of their precision and ability to frustrate adversaries, just like Vitor, who like to go for the bang. But, his sheer power and speed would give anyone a run for their money.
Franklin is far away from be washed out, but he won’t ever be a champ again. He can still have a long and well-paid career as gatekeeper for either division.

Ya Belfort look good but really Rich Franklin is not a real test. Franklin is done he has never been the same since Anderson Silva devestated his face twice 
. I would love to see Belfort against a real opponent someone that isnt “afraid” to get in there and throw bombs back and forth. Oh and to the dumasses that said Belfort will be champ Laff not as long as Anderson Silva is in the ufc. I really dont see anyone beating Anderson!

Rich Franklin done? Are you kidding? The dude just moved up a weight class and definately has his work cut out for him, but he’s sure as hell not done. Does anyone remember how many losses this guy had before this fight? Four. He had only lost to 3 people total, Loyoto Machida, Anderson Silva, and Dan Henderson, all of which are amazing fighters. This loss to Belfort is not a retirement blow, its just a wake up call for a now aging, but still great, fighter. Franklin will probably never hold a belt again, but he is no chump.

I think it’s been safe to say Vitor’s been back for a couple of years now.
If we look at the worst part of his career, it all started in 2004 after his sister was kidnapped and mudered. Anybody who cares about their family would have been devastated by that kind of event, and Vitor looks like he’s recovered emotionally.
I wish the phenom the best and I truly believe if he can cut down to 185 lb’s he’s the Spider’s biggest threat right now.

Vitor Belfort has amazing hand spend and is a technically sound boxer. If he can make the weight at 185 he’s the picture perfect guy to give Anderson Silva the fight he needs. Silva wouldn’t have the size advantage he usually does at 185 and Belfort can strike with anybody. The only question is his mental toughness and commitment.

I agree with Hawkeye, Franklin didn’t seem to have a game plan espeically if it was to ‘hear his corner’. How the f are you supposed to listen to the corner, then react especially with the SPEED of Vitor? Are you kidding?
