That spinning heel kick was sick. Enough of this TRT bitchin’ & complaining, look it up if you don’t know what it is. That was pure skill & technique from Vitor. TRT doesn’t help win fights. Belfort is just evolving more & more as a fighter. I’m thinking Belfort Vs. Silva 2.

Rochhold has got quite the chin. I’m surprised that kick didn’t put him out, and after he was going down, that left hand that Belfort landed followed by the right … ouch

shocktime Says, in 5-19-2013 at 00:26:40 from

True that. All the TRT in the world ain’t gponna help you throw a accurate spinning back kick. Classic Vitor Finishes his opponents while on top with a barrage on fist to the face. Never gets old.

you people do realize that testosterone improves performance? things like speed, power, reflexes. so, to all of a suddent say “all the trt in the world aint gonna help” or “no TFT there thats all talent and technique” please think before you post

FailSonnen Says, in 5-19-2013 at 00:56:45 from

Does not improve reflexes noob sby…..it helps with fatigue and both fighters were still fresh in the first round….not even needed. Timing and technique are the 2 main things in order to land that kick. You gotta know when to throw that kick and it has to be perfect technique. All the speed and power means nothing if your timing sucks and TRT does not miraculously give you perfect timing. That is something that is mentally developed and honed through proper practice.

konrad3465 Says, in 5-19-2013 at 01:01:11 from

You do realize that TRT DOES NOT teach the proper technique and timing to throw a kick like that right? Why dont YOU think before you post.

Thats what they are saying. That was pure technique and skill.

sby…..if you think that Belfort couldn’t pull that off without TRT, you should have your man card revoked. Luke’s a good fighter but enough with all of the excuses people.

this guy Says, in 5-19-2013 at 03:39:40 from

Sby is right. Be honest with yourself. Vitor against Anthony Johnson with all those horrible stand ups by dan miragliotta plus all the fights he had before where he looked tentative to take a shot and no hard body? This TRT nonsense has revitalized at least three careers in the UFC. Hendo, Wandy and now Belfort. Hendo lost to Jake Shields off TRT and Wandy to Leben in 27 seconds then UFC buys SF and now Hendo is a TRT monster beating Cavalcante and Fedor then Rua and Wandy KO’s Stann easy who Ko’ed Leben. Off TRT Wandy couldn’t have taken one legit shot by Stann. This TRT is both the fountain of youth plus massive amounts of testosterone and gets fighters harder than Viagra.
Too bad Belfort will have issues fighting on US soil due to the fact he has pissed hot for roids. Hard to get a license here.

RickNasty Says, in 5-19-2013 at 04:35:00 from

If you think TRT didn’t play a factor in that win, then you are uneducated. Hats off to Vitor. If TRT makes for fast finishes and exciting knockouts, I’m all for it. But, to say TRT didn’t play a role in Vitor’s win would be ridiculous.

People don’t understand that TRT aids recovery which is probably why Vitor is suddenly such a gym rat according to Florian.

tylerdurdon Says, in 5-19-2013 at 10:20:10 from

TRT makes you a vampire, it doesn’t give you skill and timing, it simply gives you a 100 year life span to hone your technique.

dankarelli Says, in 5-19-2013 at 11:44:23 from

Hey SBY-

Im going to take you to Physiology 101, since you are an idiot and have no idea what you are talking about.

1-TRT does not give you those advantages. Not if you are doing TRT as it’s supposed to be taken. If you are OVERDOSING then you are taking a level which gives you a strength advantage, and that is cheating, but TRT by definition is not.

Even if you ARE increasing your dosages to highly anabolic (and illegal) levels, they have NO impact on reflexes which are a function of your nervous system, you twit.
Strength yes, by increasing muscle mass but incidentally that also increases your Oxygen demand, and can tire you out faster.
But all of these “advantages” you guys are talking about are NOT from TRT use, but from TRT ABUSE by taking more than you are supposed to between piss tests. If they did REGULAR testing TRT would be a non-issue and offer no advantages above anyone else competing who has normal testosterone levels.

It’s a simple concept but one that many here are simply too stupid to grasp.

coutura Says, in 5-19-2013 at 12:04:38 from

I hope TrT becomes a natural thing for everyone to use .. im bored to see the nogeira minotauro and all those lame suckies fights . I love this types of fights is like watching cyborgs or super humans first bisping now lukiiii rockhole

Beast w/ 8 Limbs Says, in 5-19-2013 at 13:28:59 from

@dankarelli, Good name.

Also, I was thinking the exact same thing when I read your comment. I wish I could put it as well as you, but the truth is that folks really don’t understand the concept of Testosterone replacement. I’m not going to say that Vitor does not abuse Testosterone, but the fact that he does supplement with it is not evidence of guilt. Low T is a real issue amongst men as young as 25. A lot of men have no idea it’s even a thing, and much less that they actually have it. My cousin has Low T and he supplements with Testosterone. It doesn’t make him stronger, leaner or faster. It allows him to work his demanding construction job, make love to his wife, play with his daughter and basically, live his life.

The only real issue here, in my opinion, is that of abuse. No one should get away with having super human levels of T. But, is the fact that older fighters that would normally retire due to the “ravages of age” or remature Low T, (and not terrible injuries, or indifference to the sport) are now able to continue fighting and improving, really a bad thing? Again, the issue is abuse.

Genghis Khan Says, in 5-19-2013 at 13:43:10 from

TRT did not help him out here. it was Sensei Segal that taught him this kick. He invented it.

Armtriangle Says, in 5-19-2013 at 14:54:44 from

That’s true Test. Will do nothing for timing and technique but it definitely will improve his speed and power and will even give him a mental edge. Having said that the timing at which he threw the kick and the confidence to do so stems from hours upon hours of mastering the technique. Silva vs. Vitor2 in brazil would be a fun one to watch!

PeterParker Says, in 5-19-2013 at 16:02:10 from

As a Christian from the bible belt I have friends who dont believe in dinosaurs I’m happy that Vitor acknowledges the T. Rex existed!

KungFuLowKick Says, in 5-19-2013 at 17:08:11 from

sby is not necessarily right about TRT giving you more speed, power or technique. You improve that by training. But it does make you recover faster so you can have more training sessions. So there IS CLEARLY an advantage.I don’t mind guys who have testicular problems and need TRT but a guy who tested positive before shouldn’t get the benefice of the doubt and shouldn’t have the right to use TRT.And the other BIG problem is the testing. We don’t know what levels the Atheltic commsission tolerates in Brazil,if they have one.And everywhere it’s different.Nevada tolerates higher levels then other states.I’m sure a little portion of fighters legitimately need TRT,but all those other cheaters are ruining it for them.Again guys like Vitor who tested positive before shouldn’t have the right to do TRT.Their levels are low because they cheated before.

Steven Segal Says, in 5-19-2013 at 17:51:51 from

That isn’t perfect technique.

Perfect spinning back kick = planted foot spins first on the heel, then hips, then kicking leg.

That is okay technique.

Steven Segal Says, in 5-19-2013 at 17:54:56 from

And hasn’t Rockhold ever heard of side stepping? Most UFC fighters either freeze or just walk straight backwards when they see something coming. They should learn from Edgar and Machida.

Dawzon Says, in 5-19-2013 at 21:49:32 from

rockhold’s hands were so low throughout that I was cringing and he was standing so straight up too. I was just waiting for that knockout…Vitor is a beast.

Uno Juno Says, in 5-20-2013 at 18:06:08 from

His body can’t produce testosterone naturally due to steroid use over several years, so if you don’t think TRT is giving him the ability to train harder, therefore helping him achieve these kinds of results I don’t know what else to tell you. He would not be able to compete at this level if not for TRT

al client Says, in 5-21-2013 at 01:35:52 from

use does not equal abuse.I think it’s quite obvious that Vitor is evolving as a fighter with the different coaches and camps. Did he deserve to be punished for using years ago….yes. Did he serve his suspension…yes. Should that mean he can’t use TRT now…absolutely not. To prevent him from using TRT because of an earlier steroid miscue is basically saying that TRT shouldn’t be allowed at all. Either it’s Ok for everyone to use(that needs it0 or it’s not.
