What do people expect, there are no decent HW contenders today… If the Klicthkos where in the ERA when being the HW title holder meant something trust me they would not be champions…I.e.. Ali, Frazier, Formen, etc etc.. even in the Tyson era, they would only be middle of the pack

If you don’t like the sport then simply don’t watch it. I watch both MMA and boxing. There isn’t anything different about this and an MMA fight where the guys simply fight for TDs and just lay there fighting for position. Both sports have exciting and boring moments.

Actually, the Klitschkos out-class any competition, present and past. That’s their problem. Doesn’t make for exciting fights. They can do at 250lbs what those fighters you mention were able to do at 220lbs. It wouldn’t really be a contest. It’s the contests between more evenly matched fighters that makes for exciting fights.
Now in the divisions with lower and upper weight boundaries one can reasonably compare fighters past and present.

Marvelous you are correct sir. The Klitschko’s may be boring, but they are great fighters. Vitali especially. Vitali unlike wladamir, can take a punch and has much better cardio. He uses his reach and has a wonderful jab. Criticize them for being boring as hell if you want, but they are very effective and use their height and reach to their advantage, but methodically breaking down their opposition. They make all challengers look very bad. Everyone says they will push the pace and get on the inside against them from the onset, but that changes ones they get hit with the steel hammer jab a few times coming right down broadway. It may not be pretty, but its dam effective.

To the above pos(t)ers: vitali is the champ. arguing how he would’ve done in the 70s, 80s… who the hell knows? Its a chicken or the egg discussion. My opinion? tyson would’ve never been able to handle vitali. i would think tyson would fade down the stretch. he never took well to guys who could take his punch. my money would be on vitali. but hell, ive been wrong before. we’ll never know

That was the 1st boxing match that I’ve watched for 12 rounds since the old 15 rounders back in the day, I don’t count Iron Mike’s because he was knocking fools out in 30 sec., I see that I haven’t missed anything from the world of boxing as far as just boxing, boxing has it’s place in MMA of course, but not as it’s own sport…not anymore!
