Wow, that was painful.

Roe Jogan Says, in 8-5-2013 at 14:00:11 from

We thought it would be funny to replace the wooden boards with some unbreakable composite material made to look like wood boards.

I have laughed at my TKD friends for years on the board breaking crap.

Hitting the little girl in the head and having her cry was classic. I also love all the kids walking around with yellow and orange belts. You put one of those kids up against a yellow belt in BJJ and they will be left with a broken arm or unconscious.

HAHAHAHA i wish i was there in person to say ” your a black belt?” out loud

KungFuLowKick Says, in 8-5-2013 at 14:33:56 from

HAHAHA this is exactly like the Danny McBride movie The foot fist way.

Went to my son’s taekwondo new school grand opening yesterday. Great stuff, board breaking, fancy kicks, cool tricks. Taekwondo is definitely a cool martial art.
As for practical use of it, you just gotta take what works for you and go with it. Often sparr with guys with taekwondo background, like their speed and technique. Good stuff.

Dusty Says, in 8-5-2013 at 15:39:01 from

30-27 for the board.

Ozinator Says, in 8-5-2013 at 16:19:21 from

Notice the little kids wearing black belts? You know that when they grow up, they get to keep them. Any Martial art that awards children black belts is a joke and you shouldn’t take your kids there. We have one down the street that uses my gym’s aerobics room for classes. The vanity of the kids is disgusting and the way they treat white belts is shameful–as if you should be embarrassed by it…..so, everyone gets to rank super fast to join the cool clique. And yeah, any bjj kid can woop em and that’s standing too! Most bjj gyms now incorporate mma/boxing/MT too, so even on the feet, these “black belts” would get handled by BJJ yellows

mamadou Says, in 8-5-2013 at 17:18:10 from

I blame the big guy who didn’t hold the board steady, fimly, and with no give.

Bruno: That is old and proven fake but thanks.

lal Says, in 8-5-2013 at 18:19:56 from

There is no yellow belt in bjj you guys as far as i know xD

Miike Says, in 8-5-2013 at 19:28:01 from

lal that is for younger kids in bjj they use a different color system which includes yellow, so don’t laugh when you don’t know.

Ozinator Says, in 8-5-2013 at 19:44:14 from

lal, after white KIDS go to yellow, not adults-which is my point! The system is different for adults

Roe Jogan Says, in 8-5-2013 at 19:48:32 from

Kids BJJ Goes… White (4 Stripes), Gray (4 Stripes), Yellow (4 Stripes), Orange (4 Stripes)… these belts are earned. A kid with a yellow belt has been training 3X a week and competed in tournaments for 2 years solid with no breaks. I know, my son tests for his this coming weekend at the school where Marcus Almeida Buchecha trains adults.

Each year a “Black Belt” TKD kid shows up to try. They usually last about 30 seconds to 1 minute before they are choked or arm barred by a Grey/Yellow Belt BJJ kid. They either cry and we never see them again OR they suck it up and begin to learn how to really defend themselves. It’s always fun to watch.

pinkelephantsmarching Says, in 8-5-2013 at 20:57:44 from

“Boards don’t hit back.”…But, they might leave a few bruises when you don’t breakthrough them.

KungFuLowKick Says, in 8-5-2013 at 23:12:26 from

Yeah they give new belt ranks like it’s cereal box toys. There’s a karate gym in my town that’s the same. A kid claiming he was a black belt came in my gym he didn’t look older then 10. My coach is a legit full contact Kyokushin black belt instructor. When he saw the kid he told him show me you are a black belt. He basically was a yellow belt in karate. A black belt is supposed to be somebody who knows every technics in that martial art. There is no way in hell a kid who’s 10 knows every technics in karate. But dumb parents send their kid to 1 school and the kid gets 1 stripe white belt after a year then they send him to a school where the kid becomes a black belt in 3 years. So the school that makes black belts in 3 years has to be better then the one where they take 15 years to make one… Dumb people they don’t realise it’s a money racket. They make it easy so kids with no talent or heart stick with it.You can know if a gym is good when only 1/10 new members stay.

lal Says, in 8-6-2013 at 03:35:06 from

Alright, we dont have that system over here than.

greengiant Says, in 8-6-2013 at 06:49:09 from

Whatever happened to giving someone credit for trying? This world is full of insecure self centered people ready to tear everyone down.

Ozinator Says, in 8-6-2013 at 10:13:16 from

yes you do
lol, here’s your black belt for trolling. You did more than try! You earned it!

kyokushin Says, in 8-6-2013 at 11:07:52 from

for all those who don’t believe that TKD works, yeahh, go ahead and ask:
1. Anderson Silva
2. Joe Rogan
3. Anthony Pettis
4. Benson Henderson
5. David “the crow” louasou (spelling?)

Roe Jogan Says, in 8-6-2013 at 12:39:14 from

Joe Rogan will tell you his TKD is not s*** compated to the BJJ he took on. He has said it many times and he was a legit TKD competitor.

Prorok Says, in 8-6-2013 at 14:35:11 from

Damn guys you really give tkd a hard time. Yeah I know bjj is great, i train it myself. But tkd is not bad either, specially for kids. Its a cool martial art to start with. Very technical regardless what some people might think.
One of you wrote about tkd kids comin to his son bjj class and not being able to do s*** on the mat, well are you surprised? Of course they not gonna do well, hell anybody won’t do well unless they have some wrestling background. But then again if you would take your kid to tkd sparring he would probably get owned too. That’s how it works.
And although bjj is great I wouldn’t trust it in a street fight. Against one yeah it’s great, but when was the last time you guys saw one on one on the street? People don’t do it anymore, it’s always a group of cowards attacking one or two guys.
Went against four guys last month in the bar, was able to fight them off, knocked two of them out but I didn’t even think of going to the ground in that situation. You gotta stay on your feet in those situations, and bjj won’t do you any favor then.

lal Says, in 8-6-2013 at 17:16:07 from

No we dont. I live in Serbia unfortunately not you lol

CaptainObvious Says, in 8-6-2013 at 18:17:52 from

Prorok is a f*****. Just read his rant that prolly took him an hour to type and proof read. f***** bozo.

Prorok Says, in 8-6-2013 at 19:37:40 from

Are you serious captain? What rant? What is wrong with you dude? Just put my two cents, wasn’t ranting about anything.

kyokushin Says, in 8-6-2013 at 21:54:28 from

@roe jogan,
yea bj penn is de bess. BJJ is de bess. joe rogan is god. tkd sucks. it only works in movies and video game like tekken. Anderson silva, david louseau, pettis and benson all have sh1tty striking & kicks. oh and if they have great strikes & kicks, it must be because of muay thai. or bjj. cause we seen the gracies have great kicks, unlike cro cop.
real men learn bjj, only girly men who like to split and spin 360 learn tkd. all tkd dojo should be closed or converted to bjj dojo. bjj is de besss. joe rogan is god. :)

MisterMiyagi Says, in 8-6-2013 at 23:06:59 from

Oy, belt only good for holding up pants.

Ozinator Says, in 8-6-2013 at 23:36:21 from

Just to clarify my position…

TKD is not a joke but any dojo that awards kids black belts is. Treating a white belt wrapped around someone as a piece of shame is disgraceful. If you want your kids in TKD, great but look for that

JoeZ Says, in 8-7-2013 at 03:21:10 from

Contrary to what Royce Grace would have me believe, I’d take a striker over a grappler anyday of the week in a streetfight. TKD techniques are built for success in TKD and I respect that. Integrate some power into the techniques, up the intensity of training, and like any other sport, TKD can be even more successful in MMA.
