Considering that Dana and the Fertitas are all shrewd business execs … I wonder what was included in the Overeem deal(contract) that was meant as an insurance against this very situation with Overeem? One fight in the UFC and now 9 months in which he will not fight.

Sometimes I think back to the Lesnar days in the UFC and remember how many people expected Brock to test in the Overeem ratio range. If Brock had been an MMA fighter, survived the initial onslaught and defeated Overeem the horse meat eating chump would have been a one and done and laughed out of the UFC and fight game outside of Japan.

Then again, maybe Overeem is like most Japanese fighters — outside of Japan they don’t amount to much.

If he made a mistake, then he made a mistake.. let him get his just due. Nonetheless, he is still a great fighter that trains hard and we’ve seen him at his best and worst throughout his fighting career. He’s going be alright; i’m sure he made a boat load of cash from the lesnar fight to keep himself stable for the next 8 months or so.

How many anti-inflammatory injections would a man need to get to have 14 times the normal testosterone levels. Does this BS excuse even seem remotely plausible to anyone?

Seem to me those injections were all about causing some serious swelling not reducing it.

I honestly don’t think steriods alone inhance your chance of winning. If your roided up and can’t fight u’ll still lose, but when you are fighting another world class fighter, where anyone can win it does give you an unfair advantage.

but if you can fight and you roid its an enormous boost. you can train harder…you get stronger more easily and heal faster up. further it makes you feel very strong psychologicaly too.. and thats also a huge part of the fight game…grrrrrrrrrr

Thanks for the vid Bruno! IMO, taking roids in a one vs one combat sport is despicable! We have all known. Whoops, sorry let me re-phrase, everybody other than the Overeem nuthuggers have known for a LONG time that this guy has been juicing and it looks that if he wants to fight in the UFC he won’t be able too continue. Especially with the NSAC around. This is great news for the serious combat sports fan. The unfair advantage PED’s give someone in a sport where the worst case scenario is someone dying, is simply to great a risk for US, The UFC and MMA to accept. I’m not saying this guy is the only one, we need to root out all the cheats from the sport and random drug testing is the best we’ve got at the moment to help do that. Hopefully, this puts all other fighters on notice. Ps. I don’t think we’ll see Overeem in the UFC ever again! I think he’ll go back to the dodgy Japanese promotions when he can juice all day long if he wants too. PPs. To all the people who say they don’t care whether they juice or not, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!! GO AND WATCH PRO WRESTLING AND STAY THE F..CK AWAY FROM OUR SPORT!!
