Universal Soldier Regeneration Trailer – Jean-Claude Van Damme, Andrei Arlovski and Dolph Lundgren

Andrei Arlovski may have finally caught a break with his role in the upcoming Universal Soldier series. He can look tough and not actually have to fight.

With stolen top-secret technology, terrorists have created a next-generation Universal Soldier – an elite fighter genetically altered into a programmable killing machine. With this “UniSol” (Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Andrei “The Pit Bull” Arlovski) leading the way, they seize the crippled Chernobyl nuclear reactor, threatening to unleash a lethal radioactive cloud. The only one who can stop them is Luc Deveraux (Jean-Claude Van Damme), a UniSol who’s been decommissioned for years. Reactivated and retrained, Deveraux must make a full-out assault on the heavily armed fortress. But inside, he’ll discover not one but two of these virtually indestructible warriors. Andrew Scott (Dolph Lundgren), Deveraux’s vicious UniSol enemy from the original Universal Soldier, has been secretly reanimated and upgraded. Now, these elite fighters are locked, loaded and programmed to kill; and the fate of millions hinges on this high-action showdown.

Universal Soldier: Regeneration [Blu-ray] hits DVD and Blu-ray on January 5, 2010.

I think it was a little mean to say that Arlovski can look tough and not actually have to fight. He’s still a great fighter, he’s just getting old or maybe his head is somewhere else now. But you can’t judge him and say all he s good at is looking tough. He s got a very good career behind him.

Agreed with comment above. I find it a bit disturbing that people who are no where close to a pro fighter or athlete would say one isn’t tough or good at fighting.

After JCVD, yes a serious movie with Van Dame playing himself: a washed out bad movie star, I knew this was coming… It was either Universal Soldier or Cyborg, but US is much more marketable for today’s video game audience.

It’s been awhile, but didn’t Dolph Lundgren’s character get kicked into a huge farm thresher of some sort? Wouldn’t that have sliced and diced him into tiny little Swedish bits? Kinda makes the idea of him coming back a little more unbelievable…
