I am satisfied with most of the fighting rules used by the UFC. Probably the only rule change I would make for UFC fights would be the elimination of foot stomps.
Foot stomps show no real skill from a fighter. You usually learn how to do them at the age of 4. In a fight they aggravate a fighter and on rare occasions can help you get a better position.
My big beef is that during the fight you don’t feel them that much and they don’t really make a difference on who wins the fight. After the fight is a different story though. Your feet can ache for weeks and it can keep a fighter from starting back into their training routine. Over the years your feet take a pounding from training and you are useless when your feet go bad.
Repeatedly broken feet had help speed the end for a fighter. One of my training partners has called it quits after the third time his foot was broken in a fight. I think its time to just put an end to foot stomps and move on.
