For him to even entertain the notion that GSP and AS may fight speaks volumes about how much they’ve thrown the idea around behind doors. Zuffa wants this fight and I think it’s only a matter of time before it happens.

Jon Fitch isn’t a 155er(Serra was, but he said last 2 fights). Dana makes mistakes all the time. After A. Silvas last fight, he said that he went up and fought twice at 205. Come on Dana. It’s not that hard.

BomberB man STFU you guys are main stream fans, if you knew anything about MMA you would shut the fuck up. its all about winning and strategy, he did whatever he had to do to win. so what if that was not as exiting. I hate fans like you when a guy is doing good you suck the balls, when he is not you put him under the bus…..yall make me sick with your dumb ass comments.

I agree BomberB, Anderson isn’t the P4P best anymore. I would put him at the 3rd spot behind Fedor and then GSP. Anderson vs GSP would probably be the most sold Pay Per View ever unless the UFC gets Brock to fight Fedor somehow.

How bout Loyota cutting to 185 and GSP go up to 185. Cut to the chase, Machida will beat GSP, and Anderson Silva. Probably could do it in one night.
Thiago Alves could not stand a chance with Machida either. Thiago Silva could not land one good punch.
There is only so much of the hyping that the public can handle. Let’s see the fights that the public wants. UFC 100 has some good fights
thats for sure.

i would say 1.Fedor, 2.A.Silva, 3.GSP
you cant take silvas P4P status away from him because he still hasnt been defeated in the UFC. Fedor is No.1 because he has a ridiculous record, 1 loss from a cut.

When St. Pierre beats Alves is he the #1 P4P fighter in all of mixed martial arts ? Dana White loves Anderson Silva but he hasn’t fought anyone near the level of the guys St. Pierre is fighting … since he lost his title to Matt Serra he’s beaten Josh Koscheck , Matt Hughes , Matt Serra , Jon Fitch , BJ Penn and now he’s fighting the #3 Welterweight in the world in Thiago Alves … Silva’s been a monster but he’s not fighting those kinda guys at 185 and Fedor isn’t fighting anybody … he fights 2 times a year and his last to fights have been against cans … Sylvia got knocked out by Ray Mercer and Arlovski got knocked out by Brett Rogers … give GSP his due respect. After he pounds out Alves he’s the man in any weight class.

Onewayticket talking about sucking balls, you are all over Anderson balls and licking his ass.

Look retard, if Anderson keeps fighting like he does he will loose fans. With out fans you don’t bring in the big number for the fights. With out the big number you don’t bring in money.

The people who pay his check are the fans. The fans want a good fight and if they don’t get it then they have every right to voice there opinions. Also if he isn’t making money for Dana and he has a small fan base you know damn well Dana will cut his ass from the UFC. Oh and if you don’t like the comments then to bad you little homo.

Anderson Silva is still P4p. Does he deserve that title overall? Yes! Does his last two performances justify that position? No.

Fedor never stopped being the P4P best; don’t buy into the ufc bullshit. Actually MMA in the U.S. is a myth due to all the restrictions and limitations of the unified rules scam and 10point must system garbage.

I think Anderson Silva is just pissed Dana white cost him like 13 million dollars by not letting him do a boxing match. So hes gonna keep being an asshole and wining his fights, but making them as boring as possible.

The fans will turn on anyone who doesn’t excite them each and everytime, and so I hope Anderson Silva destroys Forrest Griffin, defends his belt one more time or so, and then retires….leaving a perfect legacy, becoming champ in 2006 and leaving as champ in 2010…not many can top that..GSP has been submitted by Hughes and KO’d by Serra, and even though he avenged those losses, it’s hardly fair to say him in the same breath as Anderson given that fact…

SQUIRES33 Says, in 7-8-2009 at 20:14:19 from 71.54.43.70

Everyone has to consider weight classes here. Middle weight to say the least imo is really boring, their are few fighters in that wc that are raw and exciting, similar to the hw division that is diminishing with Brock at champ…cant wait til Mir breaks his arm :)

Best 5 fighters imo [wc not taken into consideration]
1.Fedor 2.Silva 3. Griffin [ he has more heart than anyone i dc what negative comments ppl leave, if you say the shot rampage landed on his chin that uppercut it didnt phase him] 4. Bj Penn 5. Gsp [ Travs Lutter was beating him until he slipped and he will be exposed very soon, so what if Matt Hughes cant beat him agian..he already did the first time..]

Getting Brock vs Fedor is stupid. Brock Lesnar shouldn’t even be in the same category or sentence as fedor.. On the other hand Spider vs GSP would be the biggest fight in ufc history. 2 real mma fighters, not half knowledge albino gorillas like Brock…

A couple of things. Machida could fight at 185 easy and it would make superfights galore. Bring up GSP and see how he gets beat by guys his size. Griffin has heart but he is not that tough, see Jardine fight.

what was so sketchy about; Sakuraba vs Silva 2, Hendo vs Wand 1&2, Sapp vs Minotauro, Minotauro vs Crocop, Crocop vs Fedor, Fedor vs Hunt, Fedor vs Randleman, Shogun vs Overeem 1&2, Shogun vs Minotouro, Sakurai vs Hansen, Gomi vs Azeredo 1&2, Fedor vs Fujita, Gomi vs Diaz, Minotauro vs Kharitonov, Kharitonov vs A.Emelianenko etc. etc. all great PrideFC fights? how many could you really list from other organizations that can even compare?

rocco, serra was 155 and penn is 155. wouldnt change anything. to me, if gsp wins, they’ll hype the fight more between the spider and him. if he loses, he’ll just have to go train and come back stronger like he always done before. plus i wouldnt mind to see a rematch with the number 2 ww fitch against alves. i saw win or lose. gsp should step up in weight.

jeremyemilio Says, in 7-10-2009 at 12:17:11 from 142.167.49.21

One thing that everyone seems to be missing: Alves still has to make weight. He’s not a true 170 by any stretch of the imagination. I’d say he weighs somewhere in the area of 200 lbs. There’s cutting weight, and then there’s cutting weight. The way I see it Alves has two choices: 1. He doesn’t make weight, a la the Hughes fight, in which case the fight probably goes forward but as a non title match. 2. He uses diuretics a la the DeSouza fight, in which case he will quickly learn that GSP isn’t Tony DeSouza.

kaboom Says, in 7-10-2009 at 12:48:57 from 24.215.74.162

well alot of you must be fat f***ers who don’t realize what 15lbs is to someone who isn’t fat.
as well as the concept of cutting weight vs. Gaining weight.
to scale, 15lbs on a HW is a much smaller % than 15lbs on a LW.
95% of cutting weight is draining the body of all unnecessary fluids FOR THE WEIGH IN! they jump off the scale then go pound water and food to rehydrate themselves for the fight. Not usually 100% effective depending on how much and how intelligently they made the cut. but compared to the guy who had to gain muscle and then adapt to fighting with extra mass, because he can’t do much of anything healthy to return to optimal weight between the scale and the fight.

i’ve been dreaming about GSP vs silva too but there are so many reasons it’s not in the near future.
-the need to respect weight divisions in the ufc, they can’t keep dragging fighters all over the board for A fight on every card…peen vs gsp..wand vs franklin..
Having weight divisions is half of what makes MMA a sport..

-what weight? anderson silva fought many fights early in his career at 170. he’s the one with “no competition in the MW division”.
send him down since he said he’d never challenge machida for the LHW champ anyway.

-gsp’s style and effectiveness couldn’t be matched at 185 unless he trained hard for close to a year i’d say. and he’s got a belt to defend at WW..

Dana’s comment was right. Serra and BJ are both 155lb fighters. His dumb comment was when he said if GSP wins, “he puts him in the #2 position p4p”. He’s already said a ton that GSP is already #2 p4p in his mind.

Silva having boring fights actually makes him greater in my mind… the more boring it is, the more it shows how much greater than his competition he is.
