Valasquez is an American, a US citizen in every way shape and form.
This press conference seemed awkward as many do. Goofy reporters and folks asking stupid questions. Valasquez lacks any gift for eloquent speaking, Dana is, well, Dana, and Dos Santos is like a big happy kid with limited English repeating the same practiced sentences. I guess it is part of the big business productions we will see more and more of as the UFC grows.

Cain has a lot of balls – first title defense against the very best in the division and after such a long layoff. If I would have been his mgr I would have requested #2 or #3 as a tuneup.

This one is very difficult to call. Personally I’m a big fan of both of these guys Dos Santos is very technical, he has no ring rust right now, is loose and has stayed busy. The X factor is Cain’s post-surgery recovery, ring-rust etc, which works against him. Both guys are very solid in all aspects of the fight game. Its gonna be an awesome fight, probably will go at least 3 rounds. Hoping my fellow Salinas native gets this one and stays champ. Brown Pride will win this one either way.

@hobetopperfection Your not a true champion if you look for easy matchups, the object is to defend your belt against the number 1 contender who has worked his ass off too earn that title shot! FYI when your champ, the fighter or management does not ask or request for the #3 or 4 ranked fighter, Dana and Joe Silva are tge men who does the matchmaking!
