Dana is telling the truth about boxers making 600 bucks on a fight”” Thats why pro boxers are making the change to MMA. MMA has swallowed the sport of boxing up. Boxing is done…. Log in to Reply MMAGiantSilva October 2, 2011 Damn some shit sounds ok most of it sounds delusional but he talks like a 17 yr old thug not good for a CEO imo. Log in to Reply oldassgrappler October 2, 2011 Dana…..Too funny! He is fired up. No Christmas card for Dana this year from the Arum family. Log in to Reply chiroguy October 2, 2011 I love listening to people bash Dana White…Let’s think about this for a second…unlimited cash, drives Ferrari’s, pick of the litter in regards to women, flies on his own private jet and can give an honest interview where all he does is curse and call Bob Arum a big, fat PIG!!! People…if it wasn’t for Dana White and the UFC, where would mma be today…Seriously, think about that the next time you think about bashing Dana White. The guy is my hero, right up there with Nelson Mandela and Gandhi!!! I’m not kidding… Log in to Reply Genghis Khan October 2, 2011 Can’t wait for Bob’s rebuttal. Dana’s PR staff will be pissed after seeing this clip, specially that it was for NBC sports. Log in to Reply killasin October 2, 2011 @ MMAGIANTSILVA when you’re a president of a billion dollar company, then will you have the right to tell Dana how to do his job Log in to Reply PitfighterZ October 2, 2011 @BigGameJames: How much do you thing the average MMA fighter makes? The second largest organization in the U.S. StrikeForce (Zuffa’s company just like the UFC) pays less $3K per fight to fairly recognizable fighters. Do you really think the average fighter in all other small orgs. are making any better than $600? Talking about delusional. The UFC is the current top org. in the world and some fighters are getting less than $5K per fight. If the guy fights 3 times a year (a fair amount in the UFC) that’s $15K per year. And that’s the TOP organization in the world. So, let’s stop this b.s. of boxing vs. MMA. Fighters and coaches are getting screwed all the way around in both sports. Only the 50 top fighters make real money in any of them. Fifty out of thousands does not make the sport a fairly paid in anyway. In soccer/basketball/football/baseball any second rate player in a big league gets at least $5K per month. Log in to Reply ctimboden October 2, 2011 dang. dana schooled that dude. Log in to Reply mirkocrocop October 2, 2011 id rather him being upfront and give honest opinions than some fake ass corp CEO when cameras are on him. what he does works and hate him or love him hes real. dana is the man. Log in to Reply thxer October 2, 2011 This card sucks! Log in to Reply thaifighter October 2, 2011 that is far from being delusional he wont know exact figures but when sayin on the under card of a Pacman fight some guys are only makin $600 thats actually true. and to go even further its ****in shamefull for an organization thats been around as long as “Top Rank”. Dana may not be as soft spoken as some like but i would damn sure rather that over a ****in lyer who couldnt give a shit about the fans and doesnt want to put the biggest fights together all the time. as far as Dana goes hes got passion and he wants the best for the sport and his fighters. He goes out of his way to do the best he can for every fan and to promote the sport as best he can. hell he is doing fights on free tv and has 2 title fights for free inside of 2 months. Hows that for givin back to mma fans. Arum is a piece of shit and to be exact in just one example he was putting Muhammad Ali in fights when he should of been retired “thats what Dana calls dirty money”. that shit ruins peoples lives after their carrers have come to an end. Log in to Reply Ozinator October 2, 2011 Cocaine is awesome for partying with friends but the people who are sober never hear you the way you hear yourself. The point of solidarity and collectivism isn’t lost merely because “benevolent” rulers come around once in awhile to throw cigarettes and potato chips to the starving masses; In a union free world, benevolence would be all that workers could rely on to not get turned into slaves begging for sick leave. Using the argument that the UFC (owned by union crushers) brings money to industries with unions, begs that culinary workers the world over should abandon their unions and allow the bosses to determine the price of their labor “for the good of all” Especially if partners or shareholders are involved, “benevolence” disappears real quick as labor is turned to slavery It’s a call for a race to the bottom while Dana’s friends’ lazy wife buys another jet to do her shopping with. And yes Bob Arum is a kunt and yes Dana is a guy providing opium to the union workers who have no understanding or want of participation in the union they belong (which is why this tact will LOSE!), but it doesn’t mean that it’s good that the Fertitas contribute directly to busting unions. Does anyone really think that these guys were in danger of losing their fortunes buy losing on their UFC gamble? Log in to Reply GetSome October 3, 2011 I’m sick and tired of Ariel getting personal and not being a professional. He is getting arrogant at this point. MMA reporters are a joke compared to other sports. I’m sick of it. Log in to Reply ami October 3, 2011 I’ve always thought Ariel was a good interviewer; and I still do. But when I heard him telling Dana that Rampage “threatened” to leave the UFC to go to boxing, I almost shit my pants. Ariel, Rampage did not threaten to leave the UFC and go to boxing. He simply said it was something he would consider doing in the future. Furthermore, during Ariel’s post-fight interview with Rampage, Ariel commented on Rampage’s good head and foot movement during the Jones fight, which in turn lead to Rampage’s comments on boxing. Log in to Reply southiejimmy October 3, 2011 Theres no vid, did dana send the FBI to remove it?…..lol Bruno: Vid is still there. You probably are using an adblock program. Vid has an ad at the beginning. Many new videos won’t even play if you use an adblock program. MORON Log in to Reply Dirty Yt Boy October 3, 2011 @PitfighterZ : when you say the undercard fighters getting less than 5k in a ufc event….. think about it. even if the check says 2500$ or whatever. think of how much he got behind the publics eyes. sponsorships are huge money (nike-silva) you don’t see a disclosure saying what he makes for that. prolly a shit load. not to mention that the fighters recieve money to train between fights depending on thier contract, full medical, all the travel and hotels are all covered. come on. I would assume even a unaired undercard fighter still will make 50K a year doing 3 fights under the ufc banner. Plus, alot of the veterans are running or owning thier own gyms. i’m sure they don’t let people walk in there and train for free. And when they are doing the seminars and p r stuff they are getting paid. the fight purse is only a portion of what they make in a year. Just thought i’d try to open your eyes to a different perspective on the money game. Log in to Reply Ozinator October 3, 2011 @jassmo lol I train and enjoy watching mma. And were I a guy in the culinary, I’d still love the UFC product (I like drugs too!) but I wouldn’t be so naive as to think that it’s bullshit my union is standing up to them for what they are doing in their OTHER businesses (the one they already make fortunes off of) just because I liked their UFC product. But as I’ve said, I’m not too confident any of the union guys thanking Dana are smarter than you, so it’s a valiant effort that will ultimately backfire. Now relax and get back to watching TV! Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick October 3, 2011 @BigGame and Dirty You guys know nothing about boxing,MMA and money.Top boxers make more money then any MMA fighters.Even Silva and GSP.Any boxer who fights for top boxing promotions get paid to train and they get alot bigger paydays from fights. And Dirty that comment on sponsors is RETARDED.Boxers too have money from sponsors.UFC doesnt pay shit.Every guys on the Facebook preliminary card get paid 3-6k MAXIMUM from the UFC.Of course they will have money from sponsors how else will they eat??But I don’t even see the point in trying to make you guys understnad that. It’s like if you guys were convinced the average African family made more money then the avergae American family. It’s completly delusional. Log in to Reply PitfighterZ October 3, 2011 @Dirty Yt Boy: You just made my case for me. Only fighters who go out of their way to get extra income make a quasi-decent salary per year with a lot of costs involved, which you forgot to mention. Try opening your own gym when you fight for Strikeforce or even Bellator. even if you are a UFC fighter, you might not get much sponsorship (remember that sponsorship for most fighters means food, gym costs, and training equipment). Only the top of the top can get anything near 5 digits in sponsorship. Just go ask in any MMA gyms how many fighters they have that can afford a car, gas, or even a roof. Most fighters need 2 jobs to pay the bills and they usually work for the gym in exchange of training. Go knock on some doors, go live the life, and then you come back and tell me to open my eyes. I’ve been there. And when I was there, $600 was a freaking awesome pay. Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply You must be logged in to post a comment.
