I think people are selling Machida short on this fight. Jones is obviously the favorite but I think this is going to be closer than people think…we all know anything can happen in MMA as well. A couple timely placed punches and kicks and anybody can take anybody else out …its a game of inches …if it lands it changes the fight.

One trend I see lately. the champs get fat and overconfident..the challengers are hungrier

Size wise, the spider has already successfully fought at 205, of course, not against Jones. Why not JBJ vs. The Spider in a 5 round 195 or 200lb catch-weight non-title match up. I doubt aybody could continue to defend two belts in two weight classes for long without running into complications, and Jones isn’t dropping to 185. You could even keep it at 205 and make it a non-title match. Jones would have to put on about 50lbs or more to hang with the HW’s, which isn’t happening…unless he gets on the Overroid diet. Plus, I’m sure he’s having fun dominating 205rs.

lyoto has a karate chop/kick of a chance to stagger bones jones and hurt him, but i see jones finishing him by brutal gnp & making Ryu look like a rag doll….vs. Anderson probably the same result w/ Anderson having a better striker’s chance but still coming up short more often than not..
