UFC 99 Weigh-In Video – Rich Franklin and Wanderlei Silva Are Headliners

Weigh-ins for UFC 99: The Comeback took place this morning at Lanxess Arena in Cologne, Germany, and all 24 competitors successfully made weight.

Preliminary-card heavyweight Denis Stojnic started the first melee when he almost instantly shoved opponent Stefan Struve during the customary staredown photo opportunity. On-stage officials immediately intervened and forced the competitors off the stage.

My take…

Hathaway will smash Story,
Stonjic likes taller guys,
looking like Jesus won’t save Roli from a ripped Paul Kelly,
hopefully Paul taylors return will be successful!
Siver’ll edge Hartt,
Etim has a hard on…but I see a KO for him,
I’m a Brit, and Turk looks in better condition than last time…but Cro Cop by murder,
Fisher has his work cut out for him…,
Both Hardy and Davis look in great shape (especially Davis), still rooting for Hardy though, the whole trash talking thing may have gotten a bit out of hand, but he is looking to make a name for himself, and hes done a good job!
Swick to edge Saunders, but it’ll be close…
Kongo will prove too much for Cain,
I’ve got Rich for the main event, just…
Like both of them though.

Overall, little star power, but a good card with a lot of great fights. Any thoughts?

I really hope Mirko wins, cause if he doesn’t, we won’t get another chance to see him in the UFC.

I’m pulling for Wanderlei in the main event. I want to see him work his way back up the ranks and fight Anderson.

What a line up! Am lookin 4ward to seeing cro-cop send al turk to lala land with his left leg!!!! Oh just a after thought, sad to say but for some reason i can see wanderlei dying or at best getting seriously hurt in the ring, the guys face looks like a butchers shop window, he is a legend and he should quit whilst he is “ahead”….good luck to wee roli delgatto, with a name, face, beard and build like that how could you hit the guy, looks like he should be gettin stoned at some festival instead of scrapping in ufc!

i think this catchweight match is lame we all know rich can make 185 so if Wanderlei Silva wants to fight at the middleweight division and get a shot at the belt. Make him make the weight dont just make imaginary weight classes up for him. i do love the match up though should be a excellent fight for the fans.

This whole thing with public weigh-ins, dudes undressing, posing and facing off is something that we’ll smile at in a good ten years from now, don’t you think? Silly really when you think of it. American’s might say: “that was like soo 00’s.”

Lots of good match ups but no huge matchup that is making me giggle with excitement. I like the Kongo, Cro-Cop, and Marcus Davis fight very much. I think Ace will win by KO is the 2nd. UFC 100 is gonna be the best UFC ever though, 5 superfights on one card!

I think this is a great card, especially for the first event in Germany. There are 3 fights that could easily turn out to be fight of the night: Franklin vs Silva, Davis vs Hardy, and Saunders vs Swick.
How Kongo is the underdog just baffles me, but hey that means I might win more money this way.
I hate how unprofessional some of those guys were with the pushing after getting weighed in. UFC is trying to prove its credibility overseas, that shit didn’t help.

Hey tonyboyles, they didn’t fight at 195 for Wandy, they did it for Rich. Rich spent some time and effort putting 20 lbs on to move up to 205. He said in his pre fight interviews that moving back down to 185 would undo most of the work he’s done, but at 195 he’d be alright. Rich was making a compromise for the UFC, since 205 is his home.

I would rather watch this card than UFC 100. Every one of these fights will be worth the money. These are all guys that want to win. All the hype and starpower in 100 UFC is setting up nicely for massive dissappointment.
