UFC 82 And 83 Fight Cards Complete

The UFC has released the complete list of fighter line ups for the next 2 PPV events.

UFC 82 will bring back some fighters that have been out on extended vacations. Evan Tanner returns from his semi-retirement and we finally get to see Andrei Arlovski back in what might be his last UFC fight.

I live in montreal and am VERY excited for 83, but I must say for the first card in canada, it really stinks. GSP will run through serra quickly and then we have a few mediocre (at best) fights to look forward to? 82 looks great though.

Hind is gonna get chin checked. Needs to be a supermega fight Spider Vs Gsp. My own fighting tech. is heavily bested on those two guys and Chucky’s counter abillty. I call it Ju Stiksu.

Wow, UFC 82 has a great card from the looks of things. Can’t wait for Serra and St.Pierre, I know little about Serra apart from his last victory over GSP but GSP looks invincible when on form, and he looks on form at the moment. Especially after his demolition of Matt Hughes

for everyone saying 83 is a weak card, i disagree.

Aside from the 2 main events, the other six fights all have well known fighters who can all one day compete for the titles in their respected weight classes. the match ups might not be great, but usually when i think match up is bad, it turns out to be barn burner. especially with a few of the fighters being canadian, i cant wait to see what the passionate french canadians will bring to the arena.

GSP is going to make Serra tap, or fall unconscious… either way, he’ll be saying sorry for calling you frenchie

And Clementi and STARNES for title shots?! Come on man. Come on. Clementi had his chance, lost the show, can prove himself soon. Starnes has had mediocre at best appearances and will most likely drop from the UFC before 2009.

And I think Quarry deserves a ton of credit. Pay close attention?

i think quarry and starnes will be bumped off the card once they find a opponent for cote. dana white already confirmed cote will be in 83 and jsut have to find him an opponent, maybe alan belcher.

You have to be wary of Dan Henderson he’s beat the best of em over the years Wanderlai Silva, Vitor Belfort, Sobral, even new ufc interim heavyweight champ Nogueira to name a few, he’s as good a test as silva has had in the UFC should be a classic, think silva will do it though KO round 2. 83 has a sweet card! Serras always got that punchers chance. Clementi-Stout should be good, same with Quarry-Starnes and Franklin – LUtter. Bisping and Goulet usually put on a good show. And Ill be rootin on a good ol Edmonton boy Macdonald. i just wish it was coming to Alberta. UFC is huge here.

DAN mauled dudes in Pride, Dan had 2 belts in 2 different weight classes at the SAME TIME. Not to mention an Olympic Silver medal. A slug? Show some respect.
True, it wasn’t exciting when he fought Rampage, Rampage fought smarter and beat him. keep in mind they’re friends.
Silva is phenomenal. For Sure. Dan is like a smaller Couture with better striking & heavier hands. This should be a GREAT fight.

Reply to Jacob also – You obviously are one of those guys that started watching TUF and think you know everything about MMA. The Spider is my favorite fighter and I’ll think he’ll win, but I would never count out Hendo… anyone that does is a jack ass. Fact of the matter is you can watch all the MMA you want, but until you train or compete… your only going to know so much. Hendo and Rampage was a great technical fight.

I figured they would give Franklin someone a little harder. I think it would be more fun to see him fight Marquardt. But yeah…Both cards look great.

82 hendersen will be smart and take silva down in the first and win.
83 Matt Serra will probably go for a knock out but pierre will probably survive it. I think this might be the judges giving serra the victory. pierre is a real good wrestler but i havnt seen anyone control serra and he’s so good at ju jitsu i dont see him being beat by anything other than that kick or punch you dont see coming.

Henderson will take the belt from Silva. Most who fight Silva are afraid before the fight even gets started so they are already in trouble. Kind of reminds me of Tyson in his earlier days. Most people he fought were afraid before entering the ring and lost before the bell.
Rich did the same thing he did in the first fight and changed nothing, so I am not sure what he was thinking. Silva is a good fighter, but a fighter with no fear has a better chance of beating Silvia and Dan is not afraid of anyone so let the fight begin and see what happens.
Should Silva get the win, I would love to see GSP and Silva go at it.

I believe that Congo has a good chance against herring (hopefully Congos ground game has improved more though) However, if say he does get a title shot at minatoro, he only has a punchers chance. He’ll be outworked on the ground…..

Silva is more likely going to move up than down. In an interview he said… “That’s something that everyone’s been thinking about for a while and depending on the outcome of the Dan Henderson fight, that’s something we’re gonna have to seriously start thinking about because I can easily reach 205,” Henderson’s loopy punches will be just like Chris Leben’s except he will be coming forward faster which will make Silva’s strikes harder, but I have Silva by knee lock or arm bar in the 2nd.

7 Canucks on the Montreal card. Anyone that’s live at this event is in for a treat for Doerksen-Macdonald….. two Canadian lads both solid solid fighters. Definetly a money maker for ZUFFA lighting it up with the Canadian content…. good on ya!! GSP has Serra covered no doubt, I’ve been watching this kid kill it in Muay Thai circles for enough time now. Solid knees, great accuracy and he’s like a godamn mongoose, look to see him come out BLAZING. Stout-Clementi should be pretty interesting with both of them talking about coming out and standing up. Lets see this one done sometime in the second with Stout knocking Clementi out….. or Arm Bar!!
