Log in to Reply drewblood July 7, 2013 am i the only one who was laughing when he was holding the flag upside down? Log in to Reply shocktime July 7, 2013 I’m a long time poster on this site and this was the 1st fight MMA event I’ve ever attended! Seeing the UFC live and in person is really awesome! Highly recommend it if you’ve never been. MGM is a nice venue seats I had were much better than I expected, it’s not a super huge arena. To the Weidman fanboys/or Anderson haters I say this. All his antics and dancing around was the best part of the event it was very entertaining to me and the overwhelming majority of the crowd. Just him walking out was better than some of the other fights. He’s a superstar! If you were there watching from the crowd perspective you could tell he was trying to put on a show versus just wrecking the guy early. Most ppl don’t wanna pay to see a 10 sec KO. Most of you here are educated MMA fans and you know that 8 times out of 10 (Weidman would win twice he’s legit) Anderson wins this fight if he just goes for the kill. Log in to Reply Ironfist July 7, 2013 FEDOR = GOAT Log in to Reply nexstory July 7, 2013 Andersen Silva wanted to lose. He basically said as much. Carrying the belt for as long as he has was becoming a burden. He wants to get back to basics. He wants to return to his family and roots. He loves to fight but he no longer craves the limelight. This is my take on the subtext reasoning why he lost. I once trained with a highly skilled martial arts instructor who when I suggested that he advertize, responded, “I do not want to be well known.. just well liked”. Log in to Reply Tear July 8, 2013 Weidman will never be close to as good as Silva. Log in to Reply mrl3 July 8, 2013 Anderson Silva is without a doubt the PFP best dancer in the UFC! Log in to Reply mrl3 July 8, 2013 Anderson Silva….stick to dancing! I don’t think MMA is your thing. Log in to Reply mrl3 July 8, 2013 Pride always comes before the fall……. Log in to Reply ssrobbi July 8, 2013 dear god please leave the fedor comments out…no one still cares about if fedor was hypothetically better p4p. he wouldn’t ever prove it, we all got over it, it’s over. Log in to Reply Metta87 July 8, 2013 Well all those tauntings and showboating backfired on him i guess,it helped him a lot in couple of his last fights but wasnt the case this time.Like i said before on this very site silva boxing is overrated, you can fake talent but one day it catches up on you and thats the result.Maybe he should get a rest and really go to the basics, but at 38 yrs old…i think its too late. There is a new king in town i guess. Log in to Reply Metta87 July 8, 2013 Also, not only he was ranked at the gop but he was indeed the most feared fighter, except sonnen i believe most of his opponents were scared to death before fighting him,the thing is that when people see the old champ gettin ko like that, they also start to believe that they can do it too, they lose that fear and i think this is gonna make things very interesting for silva next fights, now we gonna see how good he really is when the guys in front of him dnt shit in their pants no more. Log in to Reply greengiant July 8, 2013 It shows a lot of peoples ignorance when right when someone great loses they talk smack like “he was never that good”. Log in to Reply DaMilkman July 8, 2013 @ shocktime i fully agree cos u can hear how much the crowd were laughing when Silva did his antics. Whether he wanted to loose or not i really doubt he expected to get clipped the way he did & he paid the ultimate for his actions. Hopefully there will be a rematch & Weidman can face the Silva he intended to fight so we can see who really is the best of the 2 with no blurred lines. Was a great card from start to finish. I also attended my 1st ever ufc event this year in London & can agree that the atmosphere is totally different to watching it on tv/online. Well worth doing if u’re a true fan of the sport. as always big ups 2 Bruno! Log in to Reply nexstory July 8, 2013 Winning is “not” everything or the only thing. Andersen Silva as a master of MMA began to see past the limelight ans basically said through his actions in the ring the other evening that its time to pass the torch. Why? Because as Dana White has said on many occasions, holding the Belt is surreal. It opens so many doors and opportunities that are inaccessible without the Belt. Silva, basically said in his own way that he he wants to get back to his family and his students for a time. He wants to fight, but not for the Belt. Andersen saw that Chris is a good kid and I believe that he actually enjoyed the fact that Weidman nailed him. There is a universe beyond fame and fortune that Andersen wants to experience for awhile. Its called returning to simple origins. In watching the fight closely without the sound, Silva was playfully passive on both his feet and on the ground. Had he wanted to beat Chris, I don’t think this would have been a problem. In losing, Andersen Silva believes that he has won a little time off from the glare of fame. Just my gut. Log in to Reply bongobrains July 8, 2013 Fixed. Rigged. Silva knows better than to dance for that long. He clearly wanted to lose. Congrats Chris for keeping focus and catching him. But I still think it was fixed. Log in to Reply ironfist July 8, 2013 What the hell are u gonna say when chris dominates him again??? He had a stubbed toe, he likes being unconscious, he is so bored that losing again was the only way to relieve it, it was fixed again, he’s just trying to get rid of Burger King as a sponsor so he can go with Wendys. Im sure you fan boys will come up with more. In reality Wiedman KOED Silva all your excuses are lame and sad very sad get over it your man is DONE and he’ll never be the same oh and FEDOR=GOAT Log in to Reply nexstory July 8, 2013 Not fixed in the usual sense of the term. But in Andersen’s mind, probably premeditated as his out of the limelight. For him the novelty of fame and being in the spotlight had long worm off. The guy just wants to get back to basics (at least for a while). If he had won, all the hype and publicity and constant media attention about the super fight would have been endless. The guy wants some quiet time. Wouldn’t have happened if he had won. Log in to Reply Lou July 8, 2013 whos the stupid hoe crying in the back with white jean shorts? get a grip you rag!!!
