UFC 153 Fight Card Now To Include Anderson Silva vs. Stephan Bonnar And Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira vs. Dave Herman

UFC president Dana White announced by Twitter that co-main fighter Rampage Jackson was injured. Jackson reportedly suffered an elbow injury that prevented him from fighting Glover Teixeira. Soon later, we found out that Featherweight champion Jose Aldo’s foot had not yet recovered from his recent motorcycle accident. The injury knocks Aldo from what would have been a great fight against former Lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.

Here is the expected fight card for UFC 153 In Rio.

I gotta say this was totally a payday for bonnar, he has a signifigent spot in Dana’s heart. Too bad for bonnar that he couldn’t cash in with UFC as forrest had. This fight is just a pay day for bonnar- he is hurting for cash and this is his retirment fight as far as cash goes. All main events make 2x what they would if they didn’t headline. Good for bonnar.

This is a dumb fight in my eyes. Not a big Silva fan but the way he demolished Forrest who is considerably better than Bonnar leads me to believe he has less than a 3% chance of winning this fight. Bonner has a great chin and is a durable fighter but he will be getting beaten to the punch all night. Due to Bonners insistance of having entertaining fights (which I commend him for) he will not implore a strategy similiar to what beat Kingsbury and would give him the best chance here. On the other hand I cant blame you Bruno you will get better than 10 to 1 odds so even if you throw down say 5 bucks you can win a cool 50. However, I think there is less of a chance for the upset than Serra had or even Sokodjou over Nog.

My jaw dropped when I saw Bonnar’s name. No disrespect, but I peg this fight as Silva: TKO via ass-kicking. Sure, any decent fighter has a chance, but that doesn’t mean I would arrange a fight between Silva and Leben, either.

It’s not like Anderson walks around at 200-210 lbs & cuts to 185, he walks around at 220-225 & cuts down to 185, I know Bonnar walks around 230-240 & cuts to 205, still a much smaller cut to 205 for Silva, the Burger King T will be a bit tighter on 10/13, but Silva’s speed is too much for the Psycho regardless, but much like any fighter, Bonnar does have a “punchers chance”, that’s all I give him though!

Bruno, sure Bonnar went the distance against Bones, but it was back in the day when Jones was a rookie, I’m pretty sure nowadays Bones would break him in less than half a round. I personally dig Bonnar’s style and tricks, yet like everyone assumes, I don’t think he deserves fighting Silva at all.

Rather, what the hell is Dana going to do if Bonnar slips that one-in-a-million lucky punch in and KO’s Silva? I personally think this has a .00078% chance of happening.
