Ronys Torres: $4,000

Poor Guy…

Brightland Says, in 2-8-2010 at 09:54:30 from

Wow, I didn’t anticipate that Matt Serra was getting paid that much by the UFC. Well, I guess that money will help him open his new gym.

shib Says, in 2-8-2010 at 12:10:06 from

Is it a coincidence that Matt Serra is getting paid so much and that Dana White says he is “one of my favourite people – period” hmmm…

JesusTeeth Says, in 2-8-2010 at 13:49:34 from

Yeah Rony Torres got shitted on! And why does matt serra make that much money? Melvin Guillard was even over paid imo! How funny is it that Mike Swick gets his ass beat and makes only 2 thousand less the paulo thiago. Someone needs to rethink the pay scale!

fedornuthugger Says, in 2-8-2010 at 14:29:31 from

frank trigg doesnt deserve 30 grand to show up he should be getting less than paulo tiago imo

Stranger Says, in 2-8-2010 at 18:05:19 from

uh jesus teeth, I believe that 30,000 was including his win bonus.
cuz UFC doubles up the winners
Swick got paid 13,000 more then Thiago

Serra is probably still on his contract he won on TUF, I can’t see any other reason hes getting paid that much

Stranger Says, in 2-8-2010 at 18:12:46 from

Nate Marquardt & Sonnen both got 60,000 on top of whats listed here for fight of the night

Serra got 60k for ko of the night
Thiago got 60k for sub of the night

POPOYO Says, in 2-8-2010 at 18:13:36 from

“Nate Marquardt & Sonnen both got 60,000 on top of whats listed here for fight of the night”

that’s kind of hilarious from marquardt’s perspective. he got paid an additional 60k because he got his ass beat THAT bad.

i mean usually FOTN is a close fight.

David Says, in 2-8-2010 at 19:21:20 from

haha you guys think that they are being overpaid :S….. these guys fight maybe 3 times a year or more, and lets take for example, marquardt made $45,000, how how long do you guys think these $45,000 will last? and then there are taxes of these $45,000 which i don’t know how much is because i’m not an american, it would be nice if that’s what he would be making weekely or every month, like soccer players and basketball players and nfl players., but this is just s***, the ufc is worth about 1 – 1.25 billion dollars. most of these guys are seriously underpaid and you guys say they are overpaid :s. think about it they are maybe getting paid 3-4 times a year.

SteveP Says, in 2-8-2010 at 19:39:28 from

Im just really peeved Marquardt got beat..
Wanted to see a stand up battle with him and Silva…
Now im just going to have to settle for Sonnen rooting his leg for 25 minutes.

Big C Says, in 2-8-2010 at 19:57:43 from

bob Says, in 2-8-2010 at 22:50:41 from

Roderic Says, in 2-9-2010 at 01:50:32 from

Duyhuni Says, in 2-9-2010 at 17:24:25 from

paddedummy Says, in 2-9-2010 at 17:28:40 from

Seriously, this is chump change for guys who are one punch away from being vegetables for the rest of their lives! Especially considering what DW and his cronies are raking in!

wondering Says, in 2-9-2010 at 20:07:20 from

Do the corner and cut guys get paid out of the fighter’s own purse? If not, how do they get paid?

Greatwhite Says, in 2-9-2010 at 20:44:15 from

Randy Couture: $250,000 WTF – it was an ultra crap fight, I’d even say it was embarrassing to watch.

dmdd Says, in 2-10-2010 at 17:37:29 from

Sponsorships are being left out in this payout assessment.

Granted, nobody can live on $4K-$8k/yr,but that’s only if you fight once a year. And honestly,if you’re only getting paid $4K to fight once a year, you’d better have a day job or a benefactor.

However,take Rob Emerson,he makes $12K to fight.If he does that 3-4x/yr he’s looking at taking in $36K-$48K/yr,plus a winner’s purse&
potential $60K bonus.

Added altogether w/sponsorship $$$ for wearing a label, taxes or not, that’s a good hunk of coin
to make to do something they’d do for free.

CycloneX Says, in 2-11-2010 at 18:29:51 from

Taxes are 28%-30%…so if someone won $100,000…$30,000 of it is taxes. So the take home pay is $70,000.
