Mir wins by technique and show all that you don’t have to be some big freak to win. Mir doesn’t need to rush anything in the fight I think if he keeps lesnar moving and maybe tries the stick and move the way he did for noguiera Brock will probably get frustrated and start taking him down. He might be sloppy and keep his head up and open for a guillotine choke

I love Mir. He’s overcome a lot, and I really enjoy watching him fight. There are few HW that can move like him. Although I would like more than anything to see him come out on top, I don’t see this happening.

Mir is a douchebag, a great fighter, but unfortunetly an a**… I hope Brock machidas his smarta** face.

I’m really waiting for this match, it’s gonna be interesting. I don’t really mind either fighter, they are both very entertaining in their own way. I would wage my money on Mir taking this though.

Its a tough fight to call. Its wholly untrue that strength is all that Lesnar has going for him, all the wrestling training has also made him one of the fastest and most explosive heavy-weights there is, just look at his fight against Herring for proof. That fight also showed he’s able to be composed nowadays,though its likely Mir will be testing this composure to the limit by trying to stick and move, with of course Lesnar most likely being reluctant for the takedown because of Mir’s amazing groundwork.

Also Mir has shown considerable improvement in his striking, don’t get me wrong I think his win over Nogueira is mostly because years of using the ‘take punishment till it magically goes to the ground’ technique of Nogueira’s has left his reflexes shot to shit, but some better striking was clearly shown by Mir.

Then again with Lesnar’s top-class mma coaching that he now has, and his evident ability to learn quickly, who knows how big the striking gap will be.

I’d like to make a predicition for this fight, but honestly I’d have to say its one of the most unpredictable in a long time.

hes got a good ground game, true but hes not the only one with a ground game, as i recall did he not lose ….on the ground. Hes got knock out power right, of course he does… who did he knock out again, herring? nah…couture? nah…, Min soo kim ? nah…. i thought fighters got paid for skill, machida, earned 140 000 for his fight with rashad, with a record of 14-0 goin in to the fight, lesnar was 2-1 and earned 450 000 when he won…. maybe fighters should get paid for skill, not cuz they were the champion of a orginization where u had to get a 3 count to win…

forgot to add machida was and still is the most elusive fighter to step in the octagon with a rate of gettin hit once per 2.5 rounds, ide pay to see that anyday over brock, but then again, ide pay to see him lose too

I agree, I not sold at all on Mir. I agree f3dor, that Vera could put beat him again any day of the week. And Vera isn’t even a contender currently.
Not that Brock is unbeatable, but his size, strength, and wrestling, is just too much for Mir to overcome.
I also think guys like Nog, Couture, Barnett, Mir, etc, haven’t evolved enough as fighters in recent years, and will get exposed against up-and-comers if they don’t retire after their continuous retread fights against the ilk of their generation are done with.

Man how soon we forget that Brock lost to Mir already. I really like Mir and I think he is the best heavy weight right now. The guy has skills and for a heavy weight awesome submission skills. I can actually see a rear naked choke coming Brock’s way, because wrestlers weak points are legs and neck areas. It was the knee lock first time, now the choke. Mark my words.

i think mir will have a hard time striking with lesnar because lesnar probably has an iron chin due to his huge meathhead and lesnar can knock u out if one of his enormous knuckles connect. mir will probably have to submit him

Can’t say Lesnar lost to Mir, when it was a bad ref call that saved Mir. Whomever wins will be fine, it’ll be a fun fight. I read these posts and think..this must be all the clowns that just started watching MMA in the last few years and think they have a handle on what is a true fighter. Brock lesner is a side show clown GOOF!! The only skill he has is wrestling, which if you watch his fights they will bore you to death. the only way I see Brock winning is by stalling out a victory by laying on Mir and doing those pathetic donkey kong hammer fists. Mir was sidtracked mentally when he was injured in a motercycle accident. He is finally back to his old self but better. Lets get real people.
Mir Beat a green Lesnar who had almost no training in BJJ defense. He may never be as good as Mir in BJJ OFFENSE, but his wrestling can keep him out of trouble at this point. Couple with that that Lesnar is more powerful, faster, and has a huge reach advantage, and you realize that there is almost no chance that Mir can win this fight unless Brock slips and Mir immediately puts on an ankle lock. This does not make for good odds.

As for Mir’s “Great standup”: Nogeira was so sick with staph during his fight that he immediately was checked into the hospital after the fight. He also had a torn MCL which hampered his stability. So basically Mir was fighting an opponent that might have been just as easily effected by a horse tranquilizer. Wow, I know I am impressed.

Like him or not, expect this to be Lesnar’s first KO.
