TUF 14 Team Bisping vs. Team Miller New TV Ad Video.
Wat
Is this a show about finding out who the best fighter is or a cheesy, immature prank show? I can’t tell anymore.
My guess is that they’re trying to grab more of the younger audience. Perhaps that is the reason they put Mayhem as a coach in the first place.
this is a show about entertainment
Holy crap. If the TUF show ever had any integrity its long gone now. Its now officially on the same level as “Jersey Shore” and “Rock of Love”. I’ve been trying to give this show a chance every season despite its quality going downhill more and more. Not anymore. Like other “reality” shows, its obvious that fights and conflicts on this season will have been scripted and written out by the producers and scriptwriters. It should appeal to the pimply-faced MTV generation, though.
While the trailer did remind me of Jackass, you have to realize it’s just a trailer and those scenes are probably pulled from several episodes anyway. I don’t think it takes a genius to realize that MMA fans already watch the show, so they’re trying to pull in kids or whoever normally wouldn’t. I’m excited about it because of the weight classes, and the fact the premiere is going to be 2 hours long and have 16 fights.
If you think the fights are scripted then you’ve missed the first 13 seasons. These fights are real and thats why its popular, why not have more antics in between fights?
Let the circus begin.
Oops, I didn’t mean to imply the actual octagon fights are scripted. It is obvious that those are real. I meant that I think arguments and clashes between individuals in the house are encouraged by those behind the scenes, if not downright scripted. We already know from what BJ Penn said that fighters are told what to say. So I’m not putting it past the producers to create fake conflicts in the TUF house between fighters to generate interest in the fights. Myself, I don’t want to sit through 45 minutes of that fake crap in order to get to the actual fight every week. But for every viewer like me that they lose I’m sure they will gain 5 more MTV pimply faced viewers because of their more “mainstream reality show” direction that they are now trying to take the show to.
This show has officially jumped the shark…having said that, the donkeys were pretty damn funny
i just realized that many younger viewers probably have no idea what the term “jump the shark” means lol
You don’t have to script drama when you make 16 guys live with each other for 6 weeks, especially when they’re in competition to become a UFC fighter.. And it’s not like they’d have to script anything between Bisping and Mayhem either. I was a bit disappointed in the coaching choices at first, but after listening to the conference call I can tell it’s going to be amusing and hopefully a good fight afterward.
USMCKiller – its always been a cheesy, immature prank show!
I dont get why people are already talking s***. Go watch the first season where they had group competitions like survivor LOL and its gone downhill…IMO the last couple of seasons fights and cast have been boring as hell, Im glad that there actually going to entertain me for the first 40 minutes of the show.
“The show is for entertainment and it could be edited in many different ways, which doesn’t always tell the true story.” – Quinton Jackson. Well, after several articles ran in various magazines about how fake realty shows are, I can be as skeptical as I want. The cat was out of the bag on reality shows in general when story editors and segment producers (the people who manipulate, contrive, and edit to create storylines) began suing their networks and production companies because they wanted to be covered by the Writers Guild of America for their work.
Why care if I’m talking s*** already? If my TV remote doesn’t control your TV, then don’t be concerned about how I feel about the upcoming TUF season. I’m just saying its just looking like its getting too contrived for MY own viewing taste.
Thats why I thank Bruno for posting the fights SEPERATLY from the show.
@Joseph
You would be surprised how much scripts “reality tv” has.Every show like Big Broher has scripts. It’s not scripts like actors get for movies,it’s more like a producer telling people to say a certain thing or act a certain way.So why would TUF be any different? If it was targeted for people who likes fights, they would only show fights.Their target for TUF is the WWE fans who have to know the background story of a guy(total Bullshit if you ask me)and then decide if they like him or not from his acting in TUF,not his actual skills.TUF is not about good fighters trying to make it in the UFC.It’s about TV personalitites who want to have their 15 minutes of fame.
Just PLEASE let the fights and the fighters be good! I can roll with the obligatory closet gay guy running around with his knob hangin’ out, I can roll with the unfunny, poorly conceived practical jokes, hell, I can even roll with some semen inevitably popping up in an inappropriate place. All those things are inconsequential, AS LONG AS THE FIGHTS ARE GOOD!!!!!
a house full of Napoleons lol
Less pranks and more team challenges.
