Vintage Tito. I have to say, Tito was the first fighter that the then, newly acquired UFC made. They padded his record, built his popularity, and on every main event fight, he folded shop, and showed who he was. Even in his prime, he still did the same shit, NOT SHOW UP TO FIGHT!

UFC champs are made champs… the UFC machine makes the champs… I don’t see the UFC promoting Anderson Silva… I guess since he’s not really a UFC fighter, or JAckson, I guess since the UFC didn’t make their popularity, and they came from a different org to own the UFC belt. And don’t be surprised if they don’t promote Nogueira.

The UFC just realized that they don’t have to promote their champs, that is is they aren’t UFC made. All they have to do is get so gimmick fighters, and push that.

Dana is a clown, I sure hope he gets concrete shoes when M-1 opens and all the fighters don’t renew their contacts, I mean all the ex-Pride fighters, I don’t care to see, slow motion UFC fighters in any other org. exccept for GSP

Absolutely. I like to assume that UFC’s legit, but shit like that makes you wonder.
As far as Tito goes, (I assume) everyone here has seen his fights (or fallen asleep during them), and everyone knows what kind of a fighter he was and is. We need some more fighters that are about the sport, not banging J.J. or talking shit.

ufc has made mma main stream. none of the other bootleg outfits could hold the ufc’s jock.
of course with the sport still still in it’s infancy, some of the best fighters surface elsewhere, but never take for granted what dana white has brought to the table. i can remember having tickets to a ufc event in upstate new york in 95 or 96 and the show was cancelled (relocated actually) the night before because the state athletic commission slammed the door on them. white had the vision of working with the powers that be to adjust the rules (w/ out totally neutering) so that they could be held in legit venues like vegas and atlantic city. he also agreed to a strict testing policy for steriods and other drugs. this is why the likes of bob sapp, kazuyuki, and tank abbot need no longer apply… that is unless the want to get wasted like cro cop. white has mma going in the right direction despite the number of kinks in the system.

To the guys bitching about “back of the head strikes” and lesnar vs mir.. this was UFC 22 if ya didn’t look at the title. 1999. No weight classes, and basically, no rules. These strikes were perfectly legal, the only thing illegal at that point was groin strikes and biting. So get over it, and blame the unified rules set by the U.S government

Anyhow, Tito was always an average fighter and Frank, being a smaller man shows how much more talent he’s got. As for rules, they both obeyed them in this fight and that’s it. When you fight in a org that allows ball biting and you lose a fight because your opponent has swallowed your nuts then you better shut your mouth and walk away like a bitch that you’ve just become because you’ve lost fair and square.

The ref, Big John Macarthy, answered Tito’s complaint about Frank hitting in the back of the head between rounds 2 and 3 by saying quote, “It’s okay from the back, You can’t hit the back of the head or neck.” wtf, does that mean?

Especially if the fight was won by a hit to the neck. I’m sure if wasn’t legal and if it happened to excess it would be stopped. …Kind of like pot laws in Amsterdam. hehe
