Tito Ortiz To Fight Lyoto Machida Then Leave The UFC

Tito goes on a rant about the UFC while confirming his next fight will be against the undefeated Lyoto Machida.

During an interview for Fight Network Radio Tito Ortiz confirmed his rumored fight with Machida. The fight will probably take place on the UFC’s May 24 card at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. That will be the final fight on his current contract with the UFC.

Ortiz also expressed how dissatisfied he was with the way that the UFC has treated him recently and how he was unhappy that he was not offered a higher profile fight. “With Dana in charge, I don’t think that fight (Championship Fight) will ever happen for me,” said Ortiz. “Dana has bad blood for me and nothing but bad blood. They’re going to try and ruin me.”

I would consider a fight with Machida to be very high profile and I can’t see Ortiz winning this one (I also believe Ortiz is still one of the top 5 lightheavies in the world)…but…if he did win, I believe he would definitely be in line for a title shot. If Dana didn’t give him one it I would have to agree with everything Ortiz says.

I’m sorry, but who the fuck is Tito Ortiz. Look back, who has he fought with any sort of credibility that he has decisively defeated in recent history. He’s over-hyped and is the ‘badboy’ of the UFC. As much as Dana apparently hates him, he’s still put on as this incredible champ. Sure, he’s good, but he’s NOT one of the top 5 in the world. Put him against Cote again and my boy will rip him to shreds. Look at his damn record! 3 of the last 6 wins were versus Ken Shamrock … and the other 3 were decisions, 2 of which were split. He’s a second tier lightheavy and is old news.

I think he said that Dana doesn’t like him because he was put up against a guy that most likely will kick his ass. He thinks that if Dana liked him, he would put a push-over for an opponent.

The only fight I liked from Tito was the first fight I saw Vs Guy Mezger, even though he lost, it was a really entertaining bout. I never thought he would turn out to be a whining bitch.

If he think he will get more money from another MMA Org… keep on dream Tito… all washed up and no where to go.

I’m sure gonna like Toto’s grand EXIT..with a loss to Lyoto Machida…. I hope that after this win he gets a title shot… I really don’t see why Griffin is going to end up getting one before him.

Uhh, Cote stands no chance agianst Tito. Secondly, Tito is just playing the game, making his stock go up. He’s a business man now, people love hime and love to see him fight. Even those who hate him will watch him. He can easily be one of the top Light Heavies in the game, as long as he trains and takes it seriously. If he doesn’t then he’s gone, but ultimately, he can do some damage.

machida will kick his ass, he is one of the most well rounded fighter in the ufc. he knocked out rich franklin with ease, machida is in the top 3 in his division imo, but he probably wont get a title shot before griffin even if he beats tito because he is not american. ufc is definitely grooming griffin to be the next champ.

Tito and Patrick did fight in an entertaining war and it was a decision lose for patrick.(10-22-04) Tito is a great fighter and in not done however he is jumping on the “crap on the UFC” bandwagon in hopes to get some attention. UFC Does not give Americans title shots just because they are americans, That’s Retarded. Every Fight Griffen is in is always a great fight and fun to watch. The guy is a Warrior that will scrafice everything to get a win. Dana, UFC, and Joe Silva, reward fighters that have good fights that fans love whether they win or lose. Arloski beat Werdum in one of the most boring fights I’ve ever seen. Werdum tried to fight but Arloski just did leg kicks and ran away. Werdum got another fight and Arloski is gone.

Some of you are talking about hype, some are talking about poster boys. the one thing we all have to remember is match-ups. some fighting styles or even techniques are strong or weak against other styles and techniques. or hypothetically speaking take 5 fighters trained in the same areas of martial arts, the exact same martial arts. to skip confusion lets say muay tai, bjj, and wrestling. not all these fighters are going to excel in the same areas. 1 guy might beat three guys, another might be beaten by three; but when they go head to head the one with the crap record wins. this does happen and it happens in all sports. we’re all individuals and that’s what makes it so fantastic. tito isn’t a joke unless being on the apprentice and having a rock star life screw up his work ethic. Machida is sick though, i thought he runs too much but recently have a new found respect for him. i thought the African assassin would destroy him. i saw how devastating he was in pride. but then again it’s all about match ups.
i personally worry more about guys like brock lesnar coming into the ufc. no offense to frank mir but brock said he wants to face the best, &%$%#*!ing do it. i don’t want the ufc to be hyped like wwf, wwe, or what ever that feminine crap is. dana has $$$ in his eyes i just hope he doesn’t pollute the true beauty this sport is. brock is way bigger, younger, and frank is been out of the game a bit too long. i wanted nogueira, sylvia, mirco cro cop, or andrea arlovski to fight him. plus to collegiate wrestling back grounds can neutralize each other and make one boring fight.

Lesnar is up and coming. It only took one fight and now I can’t wait to see him fight again. Ortiz is great as well and he brings a different feel to the sport. Tito has not been fighting beacuse he is not getting paid. He gave the AX murder a beating he lost to Frank Shamrock due to conditioning. Randy beat him fair and square but no shame in loosing to him. He can beat Chuck but he hasnt really fought Chuck. He got his hands on him in fight num 2 and Chuck lands a elbo and Tito let go to feel his nose to see if it was still there, that was coasting a fight to get paid and go home he did not try.
