Tim Sylvia getting knocked out? no way! Now that two relatively crap fighters have knocked out Tim Sylvia and Andrei Arlovski, Fedor isn’t so impressive. The average heavyweight in UFC would beat Fedor. He is over the hill and needs to fight real competition. Thank Ray Mercer for exposing that.

What this should prove is that mma fighters don’t stand a chance in the stand up dept. against champion boxers. Sylvia should have shot in instantly and taken Mercer to the ground.

Anyone that thinks Spider Silva stands a chance boxing against Roy Jones should re-evaluate their position because top tiered boxers are deadly. Most retired boxing champs can still ko almost anyone.

MMA is a different sport all together, but if anyone here thinks that Fedor wouldn’t stand a chance is just out of their minds. He’s too smart to play that game he would have destroyed Mercer in seconds on the ground and there isn’t one single guy in the UFC that has a real chance against him.

You can take that to the bank.

(Don’t get me wrong, if he throws kicks and knees and takes it to the ground, Sylva beats Roy. But then if Tim throws kicks and knees and takes it to the ground he beats Ray. Unfortunately, Sylvia and Sylva alike are determined to prove they can box, which is a very, very massive mistake against a world class boxer… even an old one. Heck, even Kimbo was smart enough to know THAT.)

actually steve and big c, i do watch alot of MMA long before most people thought it was cool. I have watched every UFC since mid 30’s as well as every pride, k1, dream, strikeforce, AFL. I’ve watched them all, and Fedor fights jobbers. The only thing that is impressive is the slam he took from Randleman and still won the fight. He has never fought top calibre, and is afraid to fight in the ufc because he knows his legacy would be detroyed. Mir, Lesner, Carwin. All three of them would run Fedor. Its the internet dick riders that make fedor seem invincible. He fought a giant freak that didnt know what an armbar was, tim sylvia and andrei arlovski in the past 3 years. Wow dude, what a monster!!! His past fights werent against anyone any better. He’s a tought dude, but not as amazing as everyone says. Lets see him fight a top 10 heavy and not just someone on their way out of the MMA world. homos.

haha, no smk, you obviously DON’T know anything about MMA. Fedor has beaten most of the considered best heavy weight fighters. the only considerable top fighters he hasn’t faced are Lesnar, (who, imho isn’t that impressive. good wrestler and powerful strikes but that’s it) Mir, Barnett (who his next fight is, actually), and Couture, and aside from Barnett, that’s just because they are tied down in the UFC. Fedor doesn’t want to be restricted to fighting in only one promotion. that is why he doesn’t sign. he would gladly fight any of the UFCs heavy weights, in the cage or in a ring. He went undefeated through his Pride career… not many can say they went through Pride with no losses :/ and i’m sorry you think Crop Cop, Hunt, Randleman, Sylvia, Arlovski, Coleman(who he beat twice), Babalu, Arona, and Nog(who he also beat twice) are “jobbers”

There is no one in the UFC and possibly the planet that could beat Fedor at this time. The only person that could possibly even compete with Fedor is Frank Mir. You say Fedor fought nothing but jobbers but put Lesnar with his huge 4 fight resume and Carwin another promising but unproven fighter as examples of real competition.

Sorry man but you are clueless if that’s what you bring to this argument. Lesnar’s the greatest ever I guess, he lost to a very good fighter in Mir (90 seconds 1st round), he beat a washed up Heath Herring (lay and pray all the way) and a 45 year old Couture who hadn’t fought in a year and a half. All in all very impressive, but Fedor well he’s fought jobbers like Cro Cop in his prime, and undefeated and considered unbeatable Noguiera, Coleman, Randleman, Herring in his prime (I guess that doesn’t count cause he was in his prime), Arona etc, etc as the list goes on.

Pathetic argument, I truly hope you start to open your eyes when you watch all of that mma there.

I think Barnett will beat Fedor. I really do. Sylvia is a crap fighter. He NEVER uses his length properly. He has slow hands. And doesnt have the ego to match. Aren’t all the “top” UFC guys, Pride guys who are past their prime? Hendo, Wanderlei, Nog, looks like Rampage and Silva may be starting to slow down.

In Fedor’s case at the end of the day you run out of people to fight. People get old. I mean Larry Holmes beat Ali, yet we know Larry Holmes more for jumping off the roof of a limo then beating Ali. (hardcore boxing fans don’t respond to this like you give a rats ass about Larry Holmes because I don’t want you to recite Holmes’ bio that you just googled). Should Fedor wait around for some up and coming 25 year old to “tell us so”. Don’t blame Fedor for Dana’s inability to sign him. It just might be the best thing though. If some Russian comes in and wipes the floor with Mir, Brock, Randy, and now Carwin and Velazquez the UFC heavyweight division will be like boxings. It’s fine and dandy for us because we get what we want but Dana’s bank account takes a hit in the long run when theres no heavweight fight worth watching past UFC 110.

Maybe the UFC isn’t as good as they say they are, they’re just the only ones with a major television contract and a reality show.
