This was the first MMA fight between Tim Sylvia (8-0) and Mike Whitehead (1-0). The SB 24 – Return of the Heavyweights 1 event took place at Blaisdell Arena in Honolulu, Hawaii on April 26, 2002.

Man, this is when Big Tim used to be exciting!! Head movement, excellent takedown defense, and actually an entertaining fight!! Whitehead got rocked at the end and he stopped shooting in after taking about six uppercuts.

With Tim now gunning for a fight against Ken Sham and not making it to the 2nd Affliction card, I think it is a good indication that Timmy is about done. Even if he still wants to believe he is a top heavyweight, I don’t think promoters care about him.

His price tag was a joke.

Back to the Ken v Tim fight though…Tim is trying to tell us that this is a good fight for him and that he is really better than Ken. No shit sherlock, I could take Ken and I am an overweight fat ass that sits on my computer. But I could beat the crap out of Ken too, I am very confident in that.
