Tim Sylvia does interview from Saturday night’s Xp3 – The Proving Ground event in Houston, Texas. He also talks about his next Affliction fight and a possible rematch with Fedor.

BIG TIM!! The maine-iac vs fedor part deux. I don’t think we’ll see that happening for some time if at all, but I have mix emotions about seeing arlovsky vs tim 4 and I’ll be surprised if he gets paid nearly as much as he did against fedor. Tim vs randy 2, maybe, tim vs barnett, yeah, tim vs pedro, maybe, and tim vs rothwell, not likely since they’re training partners. I never thought that he’ll brown nose that much, I guess that $800k affliction paid him sure is paying off.

Man boobies!!! I see them through his shirt… ewwwww. The only time I liked Tim was when he fought Big Nog, he was aggressive. I hated all his fights where he just jabbed jabbed jabbed with his reach advantage. Boringggggg. At least there are fighters like A. Silva and GSP who use their size to their advantage and incorporate skill and explosiveness unlike Tim who only takes advantage of his size.

haha. if your talking about me, i am a fighter. i train at pittsburgh kickboxing and muay thai and have been for 12 years so go yell at someone who gives two shits about your comments. if you READ my post closer, i wasn’t insulting Big Tim. I was insulting the interviewer. Fights that deserve rematches are ones that go the distance with questioneable decisions ie. decisions that could of went either way. Why the hell would he bring up a rematch with Fedor when it only lasted 38 seconds??? Tim is a world class heavyweight and a former champion but he is not on the same level as Fedor. Not even close. For Tim to get a rematch, he has to go to the back of the line and wait his turn which might be years to come. I’ve been following MMA since 1989 from the Pancrase and Vale Tudo days. I’ve forgotten more than you know so don’t come here poppin off to everyone about how much you know and how bad you are because you supposedly train at Team Quest.

You think the people that paid to see this fight want to see a rematch?? It’s not gonna happen, at least anytime soon. If you wanna see a fight where two fighters want it, check out Forrest vs. Stephan Bonnar 1. With all do respect, people see fights in different ways. Educated MMA fans see fights differently. You may see two fighters dancing around the ring doing nothing but you should understand that there is a feeling out process sometimes in a fight. You have to find a range for striking or shooting and observing your opponents reaction. It kills me when fans boo when fighters are on the ground because most of them don’t understand what’s going on. Those fans that boo would be better off going to see a Tough man competition with alot of wild swinging etc. I find it very disrespectful when fans boo the fighters. They don’t understand that one mistake in the ring could mean a loss. That’s one of the reasons I liked Pride so much. The Japanese fans were educated and understood the fight game and didn’t boo the fighters.

Twalker, no offense taken, to be honest i have nothing against what you said, but everyone knew Tim wanted it an Fedor did too, except that couldnt relaly be shown since he got beat fast. It ended quickly simply cause fedor took advantage of his options.the reason for wanting the rematch,i feel the possible chance that tim could put up a better fight or performance. i honestly think tim had no idea what kind of fighter he was up against. when cro cop got kicked in the head by gonzaga, it was amazing,i mean i expected crop cop to give gonzaga a hard time since he lasted all the way to decision with fedor. Well I guess you could say Affliction is treating you well–$300,000 for a little more than 30 seconds of getting beat up/choked out.

Considering how much Affliction is losing, we don’t even know if they will still be around in a year “treating the fighters good”. So it might all be a mute point.

I really think Sylvia was not prepared for Fedor.
It would be interesting to see what would happen in a rematch if sylvia went back to the drawing board and formulated a new set of plans. Sylvia is not a bad fighter, just had a bad night. With that being said, I think Fedor would still win but it would be a better fight.
