Whether you like him or not or think that he has what it takes to hang in there with the best fighter you gotta take your hat off to this man. He worked his butt off and did what he to do to put his name back on the map and make it back to the top.

Ha Ha,
Sylvia will lose his arm this time. What a mismatch.

Wtf come Cormier deserves way better competition, this is going to be a walk in the park and when dc destroys him all people are gonna say is tim washed up well blame the f***ing match maker!

mirfan Says, in 7-20-2012 at 19:13:28 from

cormier via whatever method he choses. this one might get ugly real quick

PitfighterZ Says, in 7-20-2012 at 19:14:39 from

It makes some sense, I guess. Tiiiimmmmmmmbbbbbeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrr gets a chance to prove himself under a Zuffa banner, fights a legitimate fighter in Cormier; Dana gets Timmeh! to shut up for a while; and Cormier has at least ONE person to fight as nobody else would be stupid enough to sign with SF HW right now…
The “multiple fights contract” is the puzzling part, but it might just mean multiple under Zuffa. I just saw the SF website to make sure and the only 2 faces there are Cormier and Barnett. So, either Timmay is fighting Cormier and Barnett a couple of times each or there is more to that contract than the story tells.

This headline should read: “Tim Sylvia to recieve vicious beating in September at the hands of Daniel Cormier.”

I remember Dana saying that he would never sign Sylvia again. I guess it’s just as well that he puts him up against the most talented guy still at Strikeforce. Dana must be laughing his azz off.

insult to Cormier

Why would Cormier even take this fight? it’s like a step back.

MMAGiantSilva Says, in 7-20-2012 at 19:44:10 from

Definitely a step back for Cormier but I will be rooting for Timmay.

Racked up three wins since his loss to Abe?

lol, yeah ok,

KTFO Loss to a 48yr old Ray Mercer in what 9 seconds? 10?

PWNED by Randy

RNC’d by Fedor in 36 seconds

Big Nog GC’d him in the third round.

Personally, for me, this is where the Bob Sapp, King Mo, WWE, and TNA wrestling become part of MMA.

Tim is 36 yrs. old now and I personally will not pay money to watch Cormier beat his big goofy ass.

I’ll come here and watch it after Bruno makes it available. I guess cause it is just like a train wreck. You should look away but can’t.

Cormier went from being a huge underdog agasint bigfoot silva to being the favorite. I’ll admit, this fight will be interesting mainly because of the height difference. I believe Cormier can dictate easily where this fight goes. I wouldn’t be surprised if he chooses to stand with Tim. I see a bloddied up Tim Sylvia being wasted away by the late 2nd round. Surprised they would give DC a guys like Tim!!

boonching Says, in 7-20-2012 at 22:13:44 from

tim-tim has a chance to resurrect his career! but I think the hands of time already beat him.

what if he goes in to hiding… eats nothing but horse meat and shoots TRT all day… and shows up at the weigh-in looking like overeem. holy s***!!! I’m going for tim

Fightfankevin Says, in 7-20-2012 at 22:24:53 from

Never was a big Tim fan but I have grown to be one cause he pisses Dana White off. if he can keep the distance he can jab his way back to the UFC WAR TIMMAY

Not true….. Silvia is bullshitting the media.
This is not real. Not trying to sound funny…. For real…. This isn’t true.

theEpicurean Says, in 7-21-2012 at 01:59:07 from

If Cormier looses then his stock plummets and if Tim wins (by some miracle)then his stock sky-rockets. That’s the only thing that makes this fight even slightly interesting.
I have a feeling Tim lucked out here and the only reason he’s fighting the SF champ is because there’s no one else to fight him and this is the only way to keeping Cormier from fading too bad before he moves to the UFC and gets smashed.
But good for Tim for advancing back to Can status.

Dana White: Tim Sylvia Not Signed to Strikeforce

“Long story,” he was quoted as saying, “but yes, Tim is not with Zuffa.”

Cormier will murder Sylvia

muppetoflove Says, in 7-21-2012 at 06:37:26 from

Everybody is complaining about the matchup. Give Tim a break he deserves a big payday. Also who else is really out there. The whole most of the strike force roster got signed to the ufc. The remainder got banished to M1. Tim Syliva is a huge step up from Pedro Rizzo Fedor.
