it sounds like its a health issue from there side.. if the drugs metabolites are still in his urine then its possible it could have an effect on his cardio vascular system and possibly damage him… its VERY slight and the shape these guys are in it would NOT make a difference at all.. but its about liability.. just incase something did happen there bases are covered…
It is important to stick to the rules and what not when there still trying to grow the sport bigger than it already is.. it needs consistency.. no bending of any rules in any case.. and yes I know NSAC or whatever isnt under the control of the UFO but rules are rules

Drugs alter your psyche and can give you an unfair advantage. Feeling less pain, for example. It’s unfair. Plain and simple. Not formalities.

to johnlotsdough:

I can’t stand these UFC formalities?

What the formalities of not wanting one of their fighters to have a heart attack and die in the octagon during a live broadcast? I’m sorry but I’d much rather have one of my fighters have Marijuana in their system as the worse that will happen is they might want a snack break half way through, whereas something like this could kill a fighter.

And no it wasn’t illegal, he informed the proper people what drug he was legally taking for his own safety and the safety of the organizers.

Here’s a funny joke:

3 men are walking down a path, the path splits into 3 different paths. Man A takes Path A, Man B takes Path B, and Man C takes Path C.

Man A is walking and finds a flower, and he decides to keep it for his wife.

Man B is walking and finds a baby rabbit, and he decides to keep it for his wife.

Man C is walking and finds a fossil, and he keeps it for his wife.

Well after about an hour of walking they all meet up and Man C say’s to men A and B, Tim will beat up Fedor

As johnlotsadough Says: it ain’t illegal. who cares about a cardiac episode/ SERIOUS CARDIOVASCULAR ADVERSE EVENT? I guess the Nevada State Athletic Commission does.

ADDERALL®
(amphetamine aspartate; amphetamine sulfate; dextroamphetamine saccharate; dextroamphetamine sulfate)

AMPHETAMINES HAVE A HIGH POTENTIAL FOR ABUSE. ADMINISTRATION OF AMPHETAMINES FOR PROLONGED PERIODS OF TIME MAY LEAD TO DRUG DEPENDENCE AND MUST BE AVOIDED. PARTICULAR ATTENTION SHOULD BE PAID TO THE POSSIBILITY OF SUBJECTS OBTAINING AMPHETAMINES FOR NON-THERAPEUTIC USE OR DISTRIBUTION TO OTHERS, AND THE DRUGS SHOULD BE PRESCRIBED OR DISPENSED SPARINGLY.

MISUSE OF AMPHETAMINE MAY CAUSE SUDDEN DEATH AND SERIOUS CARDIOVASCULAR ADVERSE EVENTS.

Bruno, as I have said before, your consistent effort to post the latests events in the sport of MMA, as well as boxing and traditional martial arts is much apprecitated and valued. Recently, I have been exposed to some good fights and fighters on BET’s the Iron Ring. In lieu of observing the post entitile “The Shortest MMA Fight” (to each thier own I suppose)do you plan to, and/or have the means to post any of the Iron Ring’s matches?Response- Bruno: I have posted The Iron Ring in the past with very negative and poor response. The season is now over. If the show dramatically improves next year I may try again.

Yeah, and I can’t stand it when people can’t figure out the difference between the UFC and the Nevada State Athletic Commission…

Iron Ring is a poor excuse for mma. It’s so terrible, it makes Elite XC look like the UFC.

Bruno, thank-your for your response. Interesting how many don’t mind the…”questionable” talent level or quality of fights on TUF. Possibly the show (Iron Ring)will improve or people can get past “personalities” they like or dislike and deal with the skill of presented. Thanks again.

be safe, i don’t know what a death in the ring would do to mma right now, it would certainly retard its growth. sad to miss a good fight, but i think its best to protect the fighters, even from themselves. Kinda like stopping a armbar from ruining a promising career cause the fighter has a extra large set of brass balls.

Did anyone who disagrees with the UFC’s decision, read why.. the meds he was taking could have very severe effects to his body during a fight, siezures..last time I checked, they were bad. I think the UFC, Refs, etc fuck shit from time to time. Safety first. And so what if he were Smoking Cannabis. That wouldn’t give him an unfair advantage. Fight in Canada again were it is medically legal.

all these supposed side effects are bullshit. sence when do they test before fights anyway. remember the good ol days when mark kerr used to fight off vicodin or guillard or rico stepping into the octagon coked out of theyre brains or how about wanderlei stomping heads winstroled out of his mind or how about these vatos locos diaz and sanchez testing positive for the chronic. let me remind you all of these drugs elevate your heart pace greatly. and nobody died. if these fighters choose to use drugs and they die fuck them good they can be an example for the future fighters, dont put shit in your body or you might die. the only thing the youth is learning is if your going to put shit in your body make sure you dont get caught.

“these drugs elevate your heart greatly and nobody died”

You know this because you’re a Pharmacist right johnlotsadough? No? perhaps a Medical researcher? Still no? Okay a doctor? alright I got it a veterinarian? okay how about someone who just reads a lot? By the way you write and spell probably not. Hey why don’t you just shut the fuck up because I don’t think you know what the hell you are talking about. Your facts are baseless and irrelevant. Although your statement “dont put shit in your body or you might die” could be used as a public service announcement to kids everywhere.
