I think dos santos will win via submission.I think he will take hunt down and submit him
But if he tries to stand with Mark Hunt JDS will be quickly KOed .Hunt’s striking level cannot be compared to JDS’s.JDS is a MMA fighter but hun t is a kickboxer and if JDS dares to stand he will see that he is a mediocre striker.But JDS is a very good MMA fighter and will take down hunt and submit him

hehe a little bit dramatic but hunt is really a force. well it all depends who he will fight against. I think in a striking match he could beat all of the hw but he could be in a lot of trouble with cain because cain is on another wrestling level than rothwell or tuchscherrer and even though he improved his takedown defense it would be a hard fight…well against jds…mhh always difficult but of course if hunt touches you then your going down

Hunt has been looking good lately, but I don’t think he is in proper shape for it. He needs to shed a few pounds and get some more cardio. Once he has that, it will be his best chance at winning a title. Frank Mir looks like the person to take on JDS at the moment. Cain vs Bigfoot, and Nelson can get someone else, maybe hunt.

versus JDS? WHY? dont you guys means versus Pat Barry? who in their right mind would put Hunt up against the Champion? For one, he hasn’t nearly finished climbing up the ladder and there’s other people who deserve it much more and secondly, his record is horrible if he lost that fight his career would be over…let him get at least 5 more wins under him before that JDS talk continues.

Don’t see this happening. Mark Hunt reminds me of the boxer also from Australia, David Tua. This match would look a lot like when Tua tried to take on Chris Byrd for the title and got embarrassed only I think JDS would finish it.

Come on. Look at Hunt’s MMA record. He lost 6 fights in a row, all in the first round from 2006 through 2010. Sure, he has won his last 3 fights but the only reason he would be considered as a contender is that all of the other good heavyweights are booked.

this guy has super heavy hands that would knock out any man, I would say he has the heaviest hands in the ufc heavy weights. but i don`t think he has the skill or fast enough for Dos santos.

OK,from what I hear thereem was not licensed to fight yet,ie; he should not have been tested,or there was no reason since he was not licensed in the US to fight(Just ran up)and that he filed for a license to fight on the following day….so the long and short of the story is he will go to the hearing on the 24th,say he wasnt supposed to be tested,give a note from his Dr.saying some sort of BS,re-take the test and piss clean…fights still on folks.

I find it hilarious so many pepole thrive for predictions. Ever notice how the majority of UFC or pro fighters, when asked, are quite reluctant to give predictions? “Fans” now days have no faith in fighters. It’s either they are champ or they are not s***. Sad, because fans should be happy to be able to witness some of these fights happen. Especially when an under dog is fighting. Don’t watch it is all that can be said, fake ass fans.

Six of seven of Hunt’s losses came from submission. If Hunt did fight and beat JDS the heavyweight division would lose all credibility. Would he be taken seriously as a legitimate champ? Or will everyone simply sit back and wait until Hunt has to defend his title against someone with a legit ground game? This should all be moot if JDS can alter his gameplan to compensate for Hunt’s striking ability, like a true MMA champ should be able to do.
Its just too bad that the heavyweight division is still so thinned out that the UFC may have to resort to picking this guy as a replacement opponent.

If you want to be reasonable: Hunt is a tough m***********, but he obviously shouldn’t be getting a title shot at this moment. However, Brock Lesnar got a shot being 2-1 (1-1 in the UFC) with no other professional fight record to speak of. Captain America got his title shot against Timmmmmbbbbbbeeeeeerrrrr coming out of a loss to Chuck Lidell at LHW.
So, it wouldn’t be incredible if Hunt, a very seasoned, but much younger than Couture and Hendo, top-notch, world-class striker on a 3 win streak to get a shot. Sure Mir deserves more, but he already had many title shots and, on paper at least, he doesn’t match up well against Cigano.

Now, if you really like fighting: I am with KouNTa KuLCHa all the way! Just bring Hunt in and let one of the most exciting fights in HW division take place. Winning or losing, Hunt would make it epic. Also, as Junior likes to keep his fights standing, Hunt could really have a chance…

@ironfist, i find it odd how you give hunt a better than punchers chance considering his shitty mma record, yet you completely dismiss a proven top heavywieght and former champ in frank mir. Dont forget, striking (punches) is only 1 part of mma. Any heavywieght can knock out any other at any time. Cro cop and congo were both supposed to outstrike mir.
JDS might have good striking, but lets not forget, its mma striking. I mean hes no ali or foreman.
