If Anderson comes back he will get KTFO by a Bisping type.

Hey I am a huge fan of Anderson Silva for his stand up game and heart. There is something I want to mention that might not be what most Anderson Silva fans like me want to hear…
1) If you look at all his fights in UFC. He never did fight a Chris Wiedman type, with strong wrestling AND striking.
2) Chael strong wrestling but can’t hit with K.O power or strong ground and pound, and no ju jitsu whatsoever.
3) Dan Henderson, strong wrestling, can hit but predictable for any good standup fighter, and no ju jitsu defense.
4) Rest of fighters primarily all ju jitsu or all stand up fighters.

Conclusion. UFC needed a hero, so they created one like what Tyson did for boxing. Dana you have to give credit but the fights were definitely favored for Anderson based upon his strengths and upper advantage he would have with a fighter who can wrestle, and hit with power, while not getting submitted.

I love Anderson Silva and he will always be champ. However in the fight game, you need a superstar. What better star than someone who wins be decisions or who wins by devastating standup k.o and t.k.o like Tyson brought to boxing and new fans from people who don’t even watch boxing. I don’t watch boxing, but loved seeing Tyson demolish the competition with his striking power.

That’s all I’m saying. Wiedman would demolish Silva just due to the fact that Anderson is like many great stand up fighters from other countries. No wrestling to prevent take downs. Silva knew this, and I think Dana only matched them together thanks to power of fans and Wiedman lobbying for the fight. Would Dana wanted Wiedman to fight Silva after gaining more experience in the ring, or get Wiedman to fight now where Silva had ring time advantage?

one last opinion…Even when Anderson fought Yushin Okami, he has strong grappling, but and take down, but his style is more like, have to come grab Anderson and trip him kind of take down. Anyone with great double leg take down, would be able to get Silva down I’d say at least 7-8 times out of 10. Key is the person must have no fear from Silva’s striking, and like what Wiedman did, pressure him and threaten with takedown. Silva knew this from the start, and both Silva and Dana White initially underestimated Wiedman’s heart to be agressive and keep moving forward.

Anderson will come back its inevitable!! Look at all the adversity Vitor went through and came back!! Heck all Anderson needs to do is wear a shin pad on his leg for added protection.
My prediction is Anderson will come back because of his pride and financial reasons. He will most likely go thru a phase where he wins some and loses some and then make a great run like Vitor, Hendo, and Shogun. The question is will he become Champ again? Yes but not for some years!!

Champion vs Champion – Jon ‘Bones’ Johns vs Weidman, Thanksgiving Weekend 2014.

Lets have a Super Fight.

luke Says, in 1-5-2014 at 14:23:18 from

Weidman-Silva you guys are out of you ever lovin minds! Weidman beat up Silva twice and that’s not enough for ‘YOU’, WTF? Silva didn’t have any moments in either fight that would have indicated any other out come, he was being dominated in that he was never in control of either fight.

Chris checked both kicks perfectly which was not an accident, his defense of two very powerful kicks took out Silva. How in the world do you have the stones to take that away from him?

These two fights were a fitting end to an arrogant fighter, pretending to embrace the martial arts code of basic respect for other people. Nothing Anderson ever did was respectful, quite the opposite. Lets face it he’s a prick and karma bit him in the ass. (Although I don’t really believe in that stuff, but still)

luke Says, in 1-5-2014 at 15:01:08 from

It’s interesting that Weidman beat the so-called best in the world TWICE and you four are completely dismissing him, very odd!

You guys sit there like you’re these great mental minds of MMA, making comments like “do you think the fans can understand” whatever, get over your self Areial.

Damn, watching this was like watching three guys stroke Silva, pretty disgusting on several levels. Reminds me of a Slim Shady song.

coutura Says, in 1-5-2014 at 21:46:19 from

He is not back but when he will be back no one knows his doctor might think he can come back but his leg can break with a powerfull kick or a take down from a good wrestling opponent and his almost 40
I think Anderson time is over

You can tell how long white america have been waiting for this new champ to come along. you all know this won’t last long? weidman is a nice guy but his no “go on a run” CHAMP. oh and you know why you guys really hate Silva…and it’s not because you think his COCKY! don’t hide behind that weak BS! good luck to weidman, hope he proves me wrong..i just don’t see it happening.

Oshawabinalex Says, in 1-6-2014 at 12:13:44 from

I agree with Luke. Why are they calling a proper leg check leading to a broken leg a fluke. That’s how you check a leg kick. He won both fights, stop making excuses.

Joe Dog Says, in 1-6-2014 at 17:29:59 from

Elvis will come back with a big hit, you mark my words.

Dan Blankenship Says, in 1-6-2014 at 17:44:25 from

“Luke” is right on this one. Weidman kicked Silva’s ass twice.

Weidman’s biggest challenge will come from STEROID BOY – VITOR! Because he’s on STEROIDS!

Weidman Keeps the Leg Says, in 1-6-2014 at 23:28:14 from

They should just have let Weidman keep Silva’s leg as a bonus – just cut it off after the fight and give it Weidman. End all of this crazy talk of Silva coming back.

drewblood Says, in 1-7-2014 at 12:55:28 from

good watch.

I feel sh1tty for saying Weidman was gonna lose both fights with Silva beforehand. Just had too much respect for Silva.. GOAT.

Weidman had to beat Silva twice, which he did, people still doubt him, and now he’s gotta fight a juicehead cheater…. rough beginning to his reign. I hope this win ends all the BS for him.

friggin Says, in 1-12-2014 at 01:56:06 from

UFC should look into the titanium plates Weidman put in his legs. Wolverine.

hatersgonhate Says, in 1-13-2014 at 19:23:52 from

I always say that even I have a chance against a professional fighter, the way Weidman “won” the second fight, any half way decent martial artist can win that way. It was a freak accident that the shin snapped in half, it wasn’t due to Weidman’s “super kick checking” abilities even if he did a great job checking the kick.

Weidman won the first round, no doubt, but it’s also a fact that he couldn’t finish an already hurt Silva.

Basically you just dismissed the whole 185 pound division as worthless or just reiterated that Silva is the best that division has ever seen. Weidman hasn’t beat or even fought anyone harder than any of the fighters you listed and if Silva is a can crusher then Weidman must be even less. Weidman is good but to claim he is a more skilled fighter than Silva is based on nothing except your personal bias against Silva.
