The Contender Asia Episode 1 Complete – Muay Thai Fighters

I have been asked by many if I could get my hands on the complete episodes of the Asia version of the Contender. Well here we go. For those that have never heard of the show it is like the U.S version of Contender but instead of boxing it is with Muay Thai fighters.

This season is already completed so if you google around for it you will know how the season ends. If you want to see all of the episodes without knowing the outcome just join the MMATKO Forums and you will be sent a link to each complete episode as they are released. The rest of the episodes will not be shown on the main site.

This is the breakdown of the show. In the The Contender Asia 16 of the world’s best fighters representing 12 different countries come together in Singapore to compete to become The Contender. The form of martial art chosen? Muay Thai Boxing, an 8-point contact fight that tests the mind, body, heart and spirit. Muay Thai, otherwise known as the art of the 8 limbs originates from Thailand where it also represents Thailand’s national sport. We caught our first glimpse of all 16 contenders through the introductory montage of the show, all 16 who are winners and champions in their own right, so who will send the pretenders to the throne packing to become the ultimate Contender?

The first Episode is on RU Tube But the rest won’t be. If you are having trouble with the video after you start it just pause it and wait for the video to get a bit ahead and then just hit play again. I don’t upload these, I just link to them so I have no control over what service the videos are uploaded to.

one competitor is listed as being from scotland.
another one is listed as being from the united kingdom.

i don’t expect fighters or tv producers to understand quantum physics, but the contradiction of the 2 above statements is bigger than tito’s head.

Ares what contradiction? they are different countries…I should know since I live in the UK…you might be getting ixed up with Great Britain…which includes both the UK and Scotland (along with a couple of countries more)

great show,great fight. I just dont like how dramatic it gets. And now the UFC countdown shows are becoming like this as well

let me explain:
scotland has a capital, local government and official borders, but so does california, but neither is an independent country.
californians don’t have a californian passport, just like scots don’t have a scottish passport.
i don’t live in the U.K. but this much I know: the United Kingdom (an independent nation)is made up of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Great Britain is made up of England, Scotland and Wales (administrative regions).
having a muay thai tournament that has a british competitor and a scottish competitor makes as much sense as having a fighter listed as american and another one listed as californian.

@ares. Sorry to say but you’re deadly wrong on your comparison. Even though they decided to joint “politically” as a unified state, Scotland holds their own jurisdiction. In the other hand, Puerto Rico which your comparison should be based doesn’t have their own passport, it is governed by the same US president and doesn’t even have their own jurisdiction. Yet, athletes from Puerto Rico represents Puerto Rico and are never classified as an US athlete in any competition.

scotland (or wales, or england) does not have a seat at the UN (united nations).
this is not a discriminatory act in any way.
they do not have a seat because they are not sovereign nations.
however, all scots, all english and all welsh are represented by the british delegate at the UN.
Just like all castillians, all catalonians, all asturians are represented by the spanish representative.

regarding athletic events, note that scotland (or wales or england) does not have its own olympic team in China.
all scottish olympians march behind the british flag.

my original point was this:
if there is an INTERNATIONAL meeting, political, athletic or other, all participants represents their own nation.
to have some athletes represent their own nation (like the muy thai fighter representing the UK) while others represent an administrative region of the same nation (the fighter representing scotland) is a contradiction.

They make them do that stupid sack race partner challenge and the guy messes up his shoulder so he won’t be able to fight properly,wtf? That asian woman is hawt. Poor TNT
