I believe Anderson will win his belt back in the remach. I see a transformation occurring he’s starting to realize what he did wrong

ericsson Says, in 7-21-2013 at 13:25:20 from

it’s gonna be hard for silva to win it back Weidman is a freak

Whatever it is, it sounds fast Says, in 7-21-2013 at 15:09:11 from

What in the hell is a remach?

Its nice of The Hulk to show up to show his support.

snype6969 Says, in 7-21-2013 at 16:09:14 from

i dont get why people are giving weidman so much credit. he didnt do much of anything the entire fight. he got one take down, then got clowned the rest of the fight until he finally landed a punch. which silva practically gave to him. had anderson wanted too he could have pulled the trigger and destroyed weidman, he was stuffing all his takedowns by rd 2. u gotta love all these bandwagon guys all the sudden bashing silva like he was never nothing and acting like weidman is the best in the world. ridiculous. silva will destroy weidman in the rematch.

AOPrinciple Says, in 7-21-2013 at 17:51:51 from

I totally agree. Weidman didn’t do anything particularly impressive. The majority of those who thought he would win thought that he would take Silva down and beat him up/submit him. He was’nt effective at either, and the knockout punch was handed to him on a silver platter. If Silva wants his belt back, he will simply take it.

skifri3 Says, in 7-21-2013 at 19:20:39 from

I don’t get why people REFUSE to give Weidman any credit. He didn’t do much of anything the entire fight? Who did you score the first round for? If you gave it to Silva then you’re clearly the same kind of person that has Leonard Garcia winning every round of every fight.

Silva played the game he always plays and he lost.

drewblood Says, in 7-21-2013 at 20:49:33 from

as sherdog said their last fight was best case scenario. chris is one up…. got 2 more fights between the 2 to see who’s the better man.

personally…. i’d love nothing more than for chris to ground and pound silva into retirement… but he better be ready for a f’n war with the greatest of all time. psyched for this one.

MMAGiantSilva Says, in 7-21-2013 at 22:07:10 from

HAHAHAHAHAHA at the video absolutely hilarious.

HAHAHAHAHAHA at the first comment, gold.

KungFuLowKick Says, in 7-21-2013 at 23:51:29 from

I agree with you. No disrespect to Chris, but the only reason he won is because Anderson thaught he was such a bad fighter he could let him punch him on the face and mock him by faking getting hurt. There,s even a tie when he stays there doesn’t move his feet or his head and lets him punc hhis face. He never did that to a quality oponent, only to guys who were so out of his league he thought he cul clown them. I don’t see Silva letting Vitor get some free punches if they ever have a rematch.

I feel so at odds with my calendar n the lengthy wait before their next one goes down!!! I think the game plans for both should be pretty much the same. Weidman was far from giving a clinic on how to outbox Silva and he should think twice before playing that game. We’ll see the Spider show up with a different level of intensity though. I can’t wait!

greengiant Says, in 7-22-2013 at 00:21:14 from

@snype6969 – I agree.

wcoastassassin Says, in 7-22-2013 at 02:48:32 from

Weidman nut huggers can give it a rest, his days are numbered. Nothing much of anything happened in the first round if you want to give it to Weidman via one gay takedown ok. Silva is going to decapitate Weidman in a rematch, Chris shouldn’t even show up. No way he can contend with an angry, focused Anderson Silva. Anyone remember Roy Jones vs Montel Griffin II?

cigronne Says, in 7-22-2013 at 03:57:20 from

Silva for president of the WORLD

atomos Says, in 7-22-2013 at 05:00:56 from

i don’t get it.
weidmann just beat silva by k.o.
why does he have to fight him again in his next fight?
it’s like saying that victory did not count.
i know why the ufc is doing this: $$$$$$$$.
everytime the ufc puts $$$ before sport, they take away another slab of credibility away from mma.

KungFuLowKick Says, in 7-22-2013 at 11:15:42 from

When you are a multiple time champ like Silva GSp, or Jones you get a rematch if you lose. It’s like that in every fighting sports. Yes it’s going to be one of the biggest PPV but they don’t do it only for money. It’s mandatory to give a rematch to a guy who had the belt for almost for 7 years to give him a rematch. They would take credibility away from the UFC if they didn’t give Silva a rematch. If you watched fighting sports for more then 2 years you would know that.

Joe Dog Says, in 7-22-2013 at 11:38:08 from

It baffles me that Silva did not get clipped and KOed long ago. Any of the previous opponents he taunted were capable. He’s damn good but there has been more than a hint of luck here and there. In the rematch, Weidman takes him down and pounds the sh*t out of him before submitting him. The First Holy Church of Saint Anderson collapses but his sainthood lives on.

TheGMan Says, in 7-22-2013 at 12:08:40 from

Guys, the people who are giving Weidman credit are doing so because he WON the fight. He won . . . AND he won by knockout. You think Anderson could have pulled the trigger and won the fight because that’s what Anderson wants you to think, that’s what he wanted Weidman to think. And in all honesty, that’s what it looks like too. However, if you analyze the fight, which you clearly haven’t Weidman looked fine on his feet, albeit a bit hesitant at points. Take a look at every time Silva clowned and then threw a quick punch, Weidman DODGED them. Weidman tagged Silva several times and Silva couldn’t touch Weidman. That’s just how the fight went. Silva lost, Weidman won, credit goes to Weidman.

Do I think Weidman is better than Silva? No. Is Silva the greatest fighter we’ve seen in the octagon? No doubt. Do I think Weidman walks through Silva in a rematch? Nope, not at all. BUT, the fight went how I explained and if you don’t believe me you didn’t watch it.

lol @atomos and @kungfulow kick

obviously someone who was a champ gets a rematch always… They wer a champ for a reason and it gives the fans a chance to see how big of a fluke it was that they lost… And the champ and the new champ to seal there victory or regain there loss by fighting again to show who is better
I like I weidman but i think Silva will approach him the same way and try to destroy him in the first round by Ground and Pound lol

Chris was beating silva. Chris wasn’t even going full force into silva after he got up because he knew what silva was trying. Silva got ktfo doing what silva fans have always called him genius for. All of a sudden it doesn’t count??? Lmfao. Cryin’ ass babies. Worst fans on earth.

paddedummy Says, in 7-22-2013 at 17:10:35 from

Buawahahaha, I don’t care how many guys he beat up, what a f@g! Crying with that cheesy after school special romantic piano music in the background, no wonder brazil is the tranny/gender reassignement capital of the world!

atomos Says, in 7-22-2013 at 17:26:35 from

i have watched the ufc for more than 2 years and i am aware that giving a champion an immediate re-match has been done before.

not usually done for a recent champion (gsp did not get an immediate belt fight after losing to serra) but it is also not standard practice either for long lasting champions (liddel never got another belt fight after losing to rampage).

what happens if silva wins the re-math?
they fight again 5 months after?

best of 3 to beat a champion?
so really weidmann did not really beat silva when he ko him.
he just won the first set.

it’s all for $$$$$ and we are the suckers.

..and based on the comments above, they’ve sucked you in all the way.

drewblood Says, in 7-22-2013 at 19:11:46 from

Absolutely they have to rematch.

There’s plenty of rematches / rubber matches in the history of sport that made no sense…. but this is a must-do rematch. It goes both ways, if Silva win #2, Chris will get a rubber match within his next couple fights if he wants it and doesnt lose again.

KungFuLowKick Says, in 7-22-2013 at 22:16:56 from

It’s because Serra was GSP’s 1st title defense, and he lost. Weidman was Silva’s 12th title fight…

KungFuLowKick Says, in 7-22-2013 at 22:20:34 from

And Liddell lost to Rampage before in Pride so it wouldn’t make sense to give a remtach to Chuck with the guy he go KOed by twice.

wcoastassassin Says, in 7-23-2013 at 06:26:07 from

@atomos if you have been watching MMA for more than 2 years, you need to pay better attention

MMAGiantSilva Says, in 7-23-2013 at 23:04:12 from

What better way to represent your country than to try to completely humiliate your opponent every time out and than get knocked clean out doing it. Chael was right this asshole doesn’t come from a bowing culture.

metta Says, in 7-24-2013 at 14:08:43 from

lol Anderson lost cause he is a fake wanna be boxer who for once met someone who wasnt scared to throw punches ,simple. He over showboats because he himself knows that his boxing sucks. When was the last time you saw him trade punches with a guy for wholes rounds? never, all the guys who faced him before were scared to death, now he met a young and confident fighter and he goes down.Mark my word he ll lose the rematch tho, and now we ll all see how good his striking is.

freee Says, in 7-25-2013 at 00:24:52 from

as a professional fight blogger, not like a lot of you internet pretend MMA know it alls in here, let me just say the spider will win the next fight. %100! bet me a cookie!

lefthooklarry Says, in 7-25-2013 at 16:37:33 from

Weidman will win again. Was Weidman ever in trouble? Did he even get a mark on him? Did he look slower? Maybe – or was that the game plan to Anderson’s Antics. More technical – more disciplined and keep the opponent thinking what was next. Wediman believe or not had a better game plan. It really doesn’t matter if he is a tad slower – he’s stronger. What we do know, is he can lay some bad azz punches on the ground. It got Anderson’s attention early.

Anderson got up and did nothing. Talked a bunch, danced a bunch, try to bait a bunch – GOT KNOCKED OUT. How is Anderson going to fight when he knows this fighter is stronger and can tag him to next week? All I see is dancin’ runaway foo in the ring. This will not be like the second Chael Sonnen fight. Anderson Comes in or wants to trade – he’s back on TV crying.

People, when you say Weidman did nothing – watch it again. The fight was only 7 minutes long!

Weidman called it! He messed up the Superfights – or did he? Weidman versus Jones!
