Duane would have ended Gomi! Duane is arguably one of the best strikers in the World PERIOD. It was a biased call by a Japanese ref trying to get popularity with a Japanese crowd for their new franchise.

Ludwig is in no way one of the best strikers in the world. Gomi put him on his ass. Cuts suck but Gomi was clearly winning and wins by doctor stoppage.

Blah, the blood wasn’t even in his eyes. I honestly think Gomi is REALLY flippen lucky. Pride “suddenly” tested for supplements when Gomi lost to Diaz and overturned the fight; now Sengoku stops this fight prematurely. I hate to say it but it’s def pro Japanese bias.

Gomi kept on smashing it over and over, and Duane couldn’t do anything to stop it. If Duane has anything left of a functioning nose after this match he has only the ref to thank for it. Damn!

That was a bad nose break, I’m glad it was stopped, no need for reconstructive surgery. If only the Couture vs Gonzaga fight had been stopped too.
The only reason Couture beat Gonzaga was because of the intentional head butt, while slamming him down. I have notice lately in the UFC that the head is being put in places where serious damage will occur, like Couture/Gonzaga, All done intentionally.
Also, I’d like to know that while in the guard, are fighters allowed to head butt the stomach of the opponent? When Kimura fought Gracie back in the day, Gracie said that a head butt to the stomach by Kimura really winded him.
