I let my son (8) take TKD for 2 months because two of his best friends were in the dojo. He got his yellow belt which cost me an additional $50 for the “test”. I pulled him out when I watched the “test” and saw how he would pretty much get his ass kicked in a fight. I then brought him to a JuiJitsu gym (with Muay Thai). He does BJJ for 3 days a week minimum. He does MT for 2 days a week. He did his first tournament last month and got 3rd. It was No Gi and the 1st and 2nd place finishers were yellow belts. He just got his second strip (5 months in). He won’t get his yellow belt until summer or this time next year. He had a little “test” with his friend who is now a “green belt”. It lasted about 45 seconds at which time his friend grasping for air learned how to tap out for his first time. His father saw it and they have now joined the BJJ gym as well. =) TKD is for Machida and those who want to lose fights. (Life Journal) Ouch… my bad. Cool fingers though! I liked the shame of the fail. Log in to Reply wow December 15, 2011 Machida does Karate you dumb ****. Log in to Reply Lando December 15, 2011 Machida also does BJJ, genius. Log in to Reply wow December 15, 2011 TKD is Korean Karate? WTF are you talking about? Log in to Reply drunkentigah December 16, 2011 I think the styles are pretty different but I don’t take either so don’t put too much merit into my opinion :). Log in to Reply JoeS December 16, 2011 Machida > Jon Jones in striking: 1.5 rounds to 0. Anthony Pettis and Cung Le have backgrounds in TKD and it definitely shows in their kicks. BTW, video was awesome. Log in to Reply yk December 16, 2011 do not steal Karate from Japan. f south korea Log in to Reply xol December 16, 2011 lol Log in to Reply shocktime December 16, 2011 The Japanese are all about that cute cuddly stuff, and call me gay but that’s what that was :). Log in to Reply keyboardcowboy December 16, 2011 @death grip – strange that he got a yellow belt in BJJ. but hey, if the choke works Log in to Reply lobosamurai December 16, 2011 Damn! it is really hard too do that. Oh and Death Grip….. No one cares about your kid’s Martial Arts history. What did that have to do with this video? Log in to Reply wow December 17, 2011 @ shocktime- Cool , but this video has nothing to do with Japan. Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
