I've trained in everything from Kenpo, Tae Kwon Do, Boxing, Wrestled for 4 years, Grappling, Muay Thai...never mastered any of them (besides wrestling where I am very comfortable), but I have the experience. My son took Aikido for some years, so I will train with some of the basic moves and guess what...they actually work at stopping a fight quickly. One street fight I was in, I was able to put a guy down and make him submit with a move they use with grabbing the hand. It may not win MMA fights (and I'm all about MMA since 1994), but it can Aikido can be extremely effective in real ife situations. I believe Segal can't beat everyone, but he can probably beat a lot of people who post on this site in a real street situation.

The Steven Segal Lawman show is actually pretty good (check it out on netflix). he will kick your ass and break your joints in seconds!
segal sounds arrogant and delusional in some ways but aikido masters can grab you in ways and twist and break your joints that you won't even know how it happened.
yes he is old and fat but he still will kick everyone's ass in this forum easily. he is a aikido master and he is pretty good at it, he might not have a good cardio since he is old and fat but he won't need it against people like you grape soda and probably everyone commenting, he'll twist and displace your joints before you know it.
remember joints are very weak!

@ grape soda

you and many are delusional thinking you can kick his ass and makes you sound very stupid!<br

I've seen real Aikido practitioners train joint locks and throws off of punches and kicks. This is what you have to get: If you don't TRAIN to fight that certain way(the aikidio way or BJJ way etc), then for sure you are NOT going to FIGHT that way.

JCVD: Un-Official World Karate champion after he beat the Real Champion right after the tournament in the parking lot.

Chuck Norris: He was like 10 times WORLD Karate/Kickboxing champion and you talk about his movies?

Steven Seagal: Will F*** you up! I have been training for 20 years...Let me say that Seagal in his early years (80's - 90's), was no joke...In fact, he was an incredible martial artist and would absolutely wipe the floor with anyone posting on this forum. When i listen to him speak today, i can't believe how he turned out. The guy sounds like a deranged lunatic. As for people commenting abou the practicality of Aikido in a real fight, there about 7 different styles of Aikido. Some of these styles include Hombu (United States Aikido Federation), Yoshinkan, The Ki Society and Nihon Goshin. For those of you who don't think Aikido would work in a REAL fight, check out Nihon Goshin which has its lineage from Daito-Ryu Aiki-Jujitsu...It's no joke. Seagal in 2012 has lost his mind but in his prime, he was for REAL!!! Grape Soda...he would have annihilated you. In 2012, you could probably take him. The guy belongs in a mental institution!!!

Perhaps the people posting on this forum would like to be educated…I hold the rank of Black Belt in Nihon Goshin Aikido and Shito-Ryu Karate.
