^ True dat but in all fairness I’m not aware of any living aikido sensei who demonstrates publicly who ISN’T an embarassment in comparison to what Morihei Ueshiba was doing to judo/sumo/kendo champs. It seems the skills were poorly transmitted and disappeared after the founder’s death

Black belt degrees in most cases does not mean you can fight. I have faced many 3rd, 4th, and 5th, degree black belts who really couldn’t fight…..this is not like old days….getting belts these days are easy with no real fighting test….
Fighting is not Kata, or just some friendly demonstration sparring or technique..it is real hits and when real hits involve those degrees can’t help many of the so-called sensei…lol

I agree.Any martial art school where there’s a 9 years old black belt is fake.I sparred a guy once who was a black belt in karate when he was 8 and he stopped training at 12 because he thought he was a bad ass.I sparred him when he was 16 because he was talking s*** about boxing and muay thai and he obviously didn’t knew how to fight.And my striking coach now is mainly a karate fighter and he showed me awesome kicks and feints and karate with him has improved my timing alot so I’m not discrediting karate.
