Testing positive for the anabolic steroid nandrolone on both his A and B samples following his win at UFC 73 will put his fight with B.J. Penn on hold.

After hiring a lawyer just a few weeks ago Sherk has decided to file for an extension with the California State Athletic Commission. He was scheduled to go before the commission Monday to disuse his case.
The case will likely not be heard now until late 2007. Even if shown to be clean Sean Sherk will probably no fight B.J. Penn this year.
