Not based on this one, but on previous fights, I think Thiago needs to choose between his jobs. He can’t be fighting in the highest level of MMA if he is not training exclusively MMA full time.
Being “good” or “tough” doesn’t cut anymore. You need to be exceptional and armed combat training does very little for your ability to fight in the octagon.

I told everyone a while back to watch out for Iranian fighters; they are very good, but we haven’t been exposed to them. This guy is from Afghanistan (which was a province of Iran about 150 years ago – which is why they speak Persian there; the name “Afghanistan” is relatively new).
Also Reza Madadi (Iranian) choked-out his opponent tonight.
We’re already starting to see very good fighters with Iranic roots:

Siyar Bahadurzada
Reza Madadi
Kamal Shalarus
Gegard Mousasi (Persian-Armenian / ParskaHye)
I don’t think we’ve even seen the cream of the crop from them: My brother went on a trip to Iran with the US Wrestling team years ago and said the MMA/Wrestling guys are awesome competitors.

I hate it when fighters land face first into the floor. There’s no way to save that from happening other than ‘don’t get it’. No way the ref can make it in time and highly unlikely that the opponent is going to catch him since its so sudden.
Thats why I hated it when Jones choked Machida and dropped him like that because that was a different scenario due to the choke and was totally avoidable and the ref was there he could caught him.

He didn’t showed a weak chin he showed that getting punched by a guy who used to fight at 205 and still had KO power there will knock you out.This can guy can KO evrybody in 170 in the UFC if he catches them like that.
