Showtime VP Stephen Espinoza details the process by which Strikeforce star Ronda Rousey left the network to fight for the UFC. The Showtime VP talks about the network’s commitment to women’s MMA and continuing interest in all MMA events.
UFC and womens MMA will fail. I’m rooting that Bellator takes the womens MMA to where it needs to be. I think it’s just FCKING dumb how Dana creates a womens division for 1 or 2 fighters? Some of these ladies competing in Bellator/SF are great to watch.
classy guy
I agree, classy guy.
He handled it well. She’s lucky it wasn’t Bellator… I think ultimately they knew they were closing up shop anyways. But they did make her the main event and that says a lot because nobody else was doing that on this sort of scale.
Dana is just a trendy guy. He’s kinda of a sell out. If he really believed in women’s MMA he would have pushed for it 10 years ago and built it up. It was really just Ronda’s performance and marketability that finally won him over.
