They say when you grapple him he is impossible to hold down, and this comes from him growing up training with adults as a kid. He looks nothing like a Mark Kerr but he is damn strong.

I go to Roger’s dojo in London, the guy is a beast…in the year this video is taken from he made a clear sweep in both the open weight and 88-98 kg class submitting all his opponents! He has also fought in MMA and was set to fight again this month until his opponent backed down from the fight…supposedly due to injury.

Aoki made the mistake, he was forcing a knee bar when RG was already defending it. And then Aoki placed his foot in the wrong place. RG didn’t force the foot lock, Aoki gave it to him.
RG is way more technical than Aoki (and I think Aoki is great)
