It was totally cool. All of the top guys wwere generous with the fans and extremely approach able. When Kron tapped that a $$ the whole stadium erupted. Very fum event. Schaub was a disappoinment. Je got stupod boooed. Log in to Reply High Stakes June 10, 2013 WOW nice!! Log in to Reply gcbies June 10, 2013 I was cheering for Kron but still felt that SA was a little slighted it looked as though he thought they would get a restart in the middle for being almost off the mat. And Kron kept it locked and kept going. Hats of for never stopping till the whistle blows or the ref is pulling you off. But also very glad it made it to a sub. I was getting a little worried when they hand fought for the first 10 min it felt. Great match! Log in to Reply Meat Drapes June 10, 2013 How was that not a restart? His hips were off the mat for f$@k sake! Log in to Reply wcoastassassin June 10, 2013 Very surprised to see Aoki go down to a guilotine. His defense seemed like it wasn’t on or Kron just gripped in a way that he trapped him. I have seen a lot of Judo and Jui-Jitsu matches and you don’t see many guilotine submissions, especially over top guys. Good win for Kron, he should enter MMA Log in to Reply PowerTele June 10, 2013 Kron said that because Aoki was a recentless competitor that he was not going to give him hrace at that point and kept the choke. I too thought they were going to resyart and totally missed the tap. Some guy in the front row ran uo and used his back as a plaform for the fighters. Glad Aoki was shutdown because he is never a gracious dude. Log in to Reply Tear June 10, 2013 Good fight. What a douche screaming boring. Fighters need to feel each other out. Can’t understand that, don’t go watch jiu-jitsu. Log in to Reply Iron_Cobra June 10, 2013 He had time to take his head out but he didn’t want to lose position. Log in to Reply Ozinator June 10, 2013 Aoki is a gracious fighter. That guy he flipped off didn’t tap and was given plenty opportunity by Aoki to do so…so mixed with the disrespectful talk before the fight, Aoki saw it as very disrespectful to not tap. I hate it when sparring someone does that because they know you won’t finish the break. Log in to Reply Ozinator June 10, 2013 the no restart made me laugh. Gracies are funny when they control the event Big John should have been there to restart and yell at all the guys crowding the mat Log in to Reply Whitedragon June 10, 2013 This for T’Challa WAT CONTNIUES?!!!! THE GRACEIES GOT THEIR ASSES HANDED TO THEM BY SAKURABA! HE WAS THEIR NIGHTMARE! AND MATT HUGHES TOOK THEIR ASSES TO SCHOOL! Legacy continues! huh! GET OUT OF THESE STUPID MYTHS! Log in to Reply PowerTele June 10, 2013 @Whitedragon-it is different in pure jits than cagw fighting when someonw can punch and kick. Hitting makes pure grappling change because of the damage that can be done. Jits is awesome for what it is. Just like karate or boxing. However MMA has no one dominant style. Log in to Reply B-Real June 10, 2013 AOKI was off of the mat. As soon as he felt the edge he stopped working and Kron sunk in the choke. It wasn’t a loss for Aoki. He even said on Japanese television, “I was felt the edge of the stage and stopped grappling. He choked me because I wasn’t trying to stop him”. I didn’t complain because I didn’t know who to explain it to. They should watch the replay as you’ll see my leg go off of the edge and I stop moving because they officials were coming to move us back in”. That’s what he said and that’s the truth. AOKI DID NOT LOSE TO KRON. JUST REWATCH THE END OF THE MATCH AND YOU’LL SEE AOKI GIVE UP POSITION TO ALLOW THE OFFICIALS TO PULL THEM BACK IN!!! Log in to Reply Freaklegion June 10, 2013 Wow do I hate Aoki. But how is that not a restart? Rules are rules. Pretty dumb. Log in to Reply ThrowDownthenHoDown June 10, 2013 gracies commentating a gracie fighter in a gracie event where they dont employ an obvious restart to favor the gracie fighter? ok, lets talk about being “gracious” or “honourable”. lol, gracies are low.. Log in to Reply danada June 10, 2013 guillotines should be made illegal in grappling competitions because it’s the easiest and lamest move you can do. it’s the first thing anyone learns and it’s so hard to get out of. Log in to Reply shocktime June 10, 2013 Rematch in Japan is only way to settle this. Log in to Reply tesla Coil June 11, 2013 That seriously should have been a restart. That could have been an interesting match. Log in to Reply ssrobbi June 11, 2013 apparently you have to fall off the stage for a restart… Log in to Reply KungFuLowKick June 11, 2013 Even if I really don,t like Aoki,he got cheated. When you go off the mat in BJJ,it’s an automatic restart. But why would a ref restart a fight when a Gracie has a choke in Metamoris??That was bullshit. How are you supposed to defend a choke when half of your body is hanging off the mat. Log in to Reply BrokenRecord June 11, 2013 Aoki stopped grappling because there was an official at the edge that moved toward Aoki to move them back in. Aoki was looking right at him, but Kron didn’t see it. It still wasn’t a loss for Aoki. It was a split second thing, but there should be a rematch and Aoki should go for the kill even if they fall off the stage. That’s how the Gracie’s were back in the day, ruthless. The even was so organized that I feel like Aoki treated the edge as a rule or boundary, so mentally he allowed himself to stop working, but Brazilian’s don’t play that. They’re not stopping unless the official yells out to them to stop and reset. Nobody’s fault, but still not a loss for Aoki in my opinion. Only Aoki knows for sure. Log in to Reply T'Challa June 11, 2013 @Whitedragon, I suspect you’re just trolling so I won’t waste time. Yeah props to Sakuraba but just cuz he beat a few Gracies doesn’t take away their legacy in MMA. If it wasn’t for them there’d be no UFC; go do some research before you question the legacy of the Gracie family. Log in to Reply Leave a Reply Cancel reply You must be logged in to post a comment.
