his corner isnt gonna be happy.
What a dumbass, should’ve just passed out after that stupidity.
I love how the ref made Aoki stand up and he immediately took him back down and finished the rear naked that he planned on anyways……
that was a stupid rookie mistake. The only time a guy should showboat is when he is attacking
Aoki fighting another Can? I dont know what to think of him anymore after that school girl incident.
WTF was he waving for thats why he choked out the dumb ass!
what an idiot…why not wave to the crowd and leave yourself open for a RNC
What was gardner thinking? Stupid wave cost him the fight…..
Ha – he waited for Gardner to do the hand wave and caught him.
Well thats what you get for showboating…
I have to agree with all the rest of the comments: What a dumbass!!
Lol that was funny.
Wave to the crowd against Aoki while he has your back not smart
Aoki, one of my favorite fighters to watch! so technical! Loved to see him try out the ufc lightweights.
oh my god…Gardner made a world class fool of himself.
Thanks for the post, Bruno.
Wow Shinya Aoki beating someone who has a grappling resume similar to Don Vito’s!!! Why is everyone impressed with this clown? He works rubber guard and beats garbage fighters…thats about it.
im sick of these fighters always BS’ing with the crowd…
Shinya is the best! I’d love to see him and BJ go at it! BJ is awesome too though! Glad AOKI choked out this idiot. He shoulda put him to sleep to teach him a lesson.
Wow what an amazing fight promotion company.
That’s why Shinya Aoki is #1 !
Aoki is garbage. He is too one dimensional. If he were to go to the UFC he’d get eaten up. Watch Dream 3 where he starts crying due to an elbow to the back…the fight was declared a No Contest, but even Bas Rutten said Aoki should have taken the L. He’s good at the ground…and nothing else.
Aoki is so over-rated! The guy has zero striking ability and would get crushed by the lowest level of UFC lightweights. I’d like to see him in the UFC, like some of you said, but only for the sole reason of watching him get exposed. As soon as he couldn’t get a fighter down he would get KO’d (and his takedowns aren’t even that great to bein with; he usually just baits guys in and pulls guard).
Byebye Japan.
Wave to the crowd now dumbass.
Faber or Brown would pound this kid to sleep.
yeah a 16-10 fighter stops his rnc gets out of it, only to be taken down again, and loses by a hand wave…Aoki looked mediocre in is this fight, and you think Faber wouldnt destroy him….funny shiiiiiit.
Aoki would toy with any of the fighters mentioned. His opponent was waving bye bye to the crowd because he knew that he had no chance of winning and that it was only a matter of time before he got tapped just like everybody else. That last take down was beautiful.
again…americans…best in show boat! tsk tsk tsk
strikes to the back of the head must be legal there!
man this aoki guy sucks. if he ever fights some real competition here in the us he’d get beatdown. torres would stomp him, so would faber and brown. hell, junie browning would beat his ass
Soo stupid!! I never see this.
lol@the wave. Guess he was trying to make sure the camera man got the shot. Very thoughtful of him. Aoki is sick on the ground, but he looks like he’d get owned by even a good wrestler who has decent standup, let alone a well rounded fighter like Penn.
I think it’s funny that Aoki gets shunned basically for the way he dresses in the ring and the style of fighting that he utilizes.
If he was American and didn’t wear the funny pants I think many people would have a different opinion of him.
Dude used to be a police officer and he’s a jiu jitsu and judo black belt. Sure he’s one dimensional, but it didn’t stop him from beating some awesome multi-talented competition like Alvarez, Hansen, Gecias Cavalcante and Caol Uno. I think if we actually do see Aoki competing in the UFC you’re going to find him tearing through everybody except maybe BJ Penn, and that would be an awesome match.

again…americans…best in show boat! tsk tsk tsk
Why is everyone so jealous of America?
And yes Aoki will fall in the UFC badly.
Too many real strikers there, and Aoki looks like a starving help the kids specimen.
thats like scratching your nuts while anderson silva has you in the clinch
smacket, NO ONE is jealous of america especially with your shity recession going on. Too many stupid people voted for bush, hey smacket, can you show me on a map where africa is… yeah didn’t think so. Go pet your tuytles. haha and actually, aoki is the number one ranked lightweight in the WORLD!! To say he would fail miserably in the ufc is a very ignorrant statement. He just fought eddie alvarez which is a phenomenal striker and was ranked number 2 in the world before that fight and aoki beat him via submission.
aoki is a bitch boy. WAR HANSEN!!!!
I would like to see Aoki in the UFC also. I don’t think he’d do as bad as some seem to think though. I think the only reason that he wouldn’t do well would be the tendency to stand the fights up even when you are seeing decent attempts at improving position. Fans still seem to like to see KO’s more than grappling. Last I saw I thought Aoki was the #2 lightweight in the world. Oh, and UFC is included in those world ranks my friends. Not many people say much when a “one dimensional” fighter goes into the UFC. I guess that is because they tell you its fine so you agree. A win is a win no matter how you get it. Aoki is smart enough to know that he won’t be a ko artist and uses his bread and butter. Would any of you choose to grapple with him if you didn’t have to in a fight? No need to answer that I know that answer would be a resounding no. No hate to any country on my part only love for MMA and the chance to see some guys that can win by submissions. I don’t hear many complaints about the guys that win by primarily KO’s.
