WHAT? That damn ref was grabbing his johnson! Am I the only one that saw that? What a different culture. Can you imagine a UFC fighter (Liddell or Penn, for example) letting referee “Big John” grab their package after a low kick. LOL.

Anyway, that aside, the fight was decent. I agree with those saying that Silva is trying to portray Wand Silva a little too much. He did a good job though.

This is for brendan. While better fighters can defend the the foot stomp or the soccer kick while conscious and awake imagine after they are rocked and prone to the ground? A sweeping soccer kick to the head can actually end someone’s career or kill him. A stomp to the face of a downed opponent can break facial bones as the heel is not padded. You are right though. This is the modern era, not the barbaric days of old as in the roman coliseums where gladiators fight to the death.

Kicking a downed opponent after the ref has clearly stopped the fight ought to get you banned from the sport for a significant amount of time. Like, a couple of years.

If you’re a fan who likes that sort of thing, you’re an asshole who has neither understanding nor regard for this sport.

And for the love of f*ck Silva, ditch the crazed look + wrist roll. It’s already been done and it wasn’t that impressive the first time around.

I agree with Tiger and Jason, there is no honor stomping the head of your opponent when he’s face down and then to follow that up with a parting kick to the face, well the fact that they didn’t show it in any of the replays speaks volumes. Apart from that it was a fantastic fight.
