K-1 Video of Semmy Schilt Vs Mark Hunt at the K-1 World Grand Prix 2008 in Yokohama.

It had been more than six years since Mark Hunt’s 2001 World GP Tokyo Dome Final performance, when the New Zealand boxer dispatched K-1 stars Francisco Filho, Stefan Leko and Jerome LeBanner to become the first non-European K-1 World GP Champion. Hunt wanted very much to score another upset tonight, against the juggernaut that is Semmy Schilt.

Hard fighter to make your comeback against.I’ve always loved hunts give me your best shot approach but against one of the hardest strikers there is and the one with the longest reach its probably not a great plan.

Good to see Mark back though

Yeah, to come back against the top K-1 fighter in the world? Someone who causes that many problems? Ouch. Hunt was never in it.. that spinning back kick to the body would have downed anyone.

He’s so fast for how large he is, usually guys his size have all the power but are slow as hell (Hong Man Choi) but he pulled that spinning back kick ass as fast as a 205er.

Too bad because i really like Mark Hunt.However,I would like to watch a rematch of this fight.
Very good strategy for Semmy with these low kicks and the last kick was unique.

When did Sammy put on all that weight? Hunt came so close to landing a knockout just 20 seconds before losing. Looking forward to seeing him back in full MMA.

Wow, Semmy put on a little weight, but still throwing kicks as hard if not harder than ever. Congrats to him on being a dad now, too, glad he won his first fight as a papa.

Hunt still looks good, but he needs to drop about 40 lbs of fat and trim up before he tries another comeback. Maybe then he wouldn’t have to square off against someone of Semmy’s size and strength…

Hunt looked slow and out of shape, he’s a fun guy to watch fight but he needs to stop doing wrestling in japan and needs to get back into the gym.

He was completely outclassed by Schilt
