I’m sorry but women MMA is not fun to watch. This match particularly was terrible. Roxanne is a very cool chick and her love of Japan and USA is cool, but man she got her ass WHOPED! I don’t want see that.

Once again, the ladies pay off. I really hope women’s MMA keeps it’s momentum and gets off the ground. A robust women’s league would be huge for the future of MMA (and professional female athletics). There is an enormous untapped demographic of potential fans and talent in women’s MMA. Gentlemen, these fighters are talented and need our support.

Any real fight fan would have liked that fight. If women keep progressing like this I’m all for it! Even though I knew the slam was comming at some point, it still made me jump to my feet! Good shit!

The ‘Power Bomb’ had less impact on that chick’s head, rather than her body. If you replay the video, she wasn’t KO’d…she had the wind knocked out of her. Either way, she was done.
But someone tell me why a hammer fist to the back of the head would be considered illegal….but a power bomb to the back of the head (ala Richardo Arona) would be ok?

Actually, when her legs drop straight, her head goes limp, and her arms open up i think its pretty easy to tell that it wasnt just “the wind was knocked out of her”. That lady was knocked out

Its your choice whether to be slammed or not. Unlike the strikes (in some cases) you just have to let go to avoid the slam. I say some cases because when it comes to strikes, I do not like the trend in fighters turning into the strike allowing the back of the head to be struck. I say if you turn your head into the strike then its your choice…like the slam.

Roxanne is a super cool girl and watching her get hurt was just horrible. This match up was terrible. Awkward is really the word.

TABASCO… the thing that knocked out Ricardo Arona wasn’t a slam, but a headbutt. If you watch that clip, his head bounces off the mat as Rampage is coming down, and lights out. Rampage has teeth marks on his forehead when he gets up.

Awesome finish for Sarah, but TobascoSAUCE nails it. We know that a blow to the back of the head is far more dangerous than a blow to the button, which is why strikes to the back of the head are illegal. Why, then, does MMA allow slams like this?

I don’t think this was a terrible fight, but it always seems like one fighter is just a punching bag in womens mma. In at least every match showtime has put on. Elitexc/Strikeforce. One fighter is always quite a bit larger than the other. They’re trying to be boxing, and pad the fighters resumes. Otherwise, cyborg and Kaufman would already be matched up. And there would be none of this bullshit of Cyborg fighting some hottie, Jann Finney, and almost killing her. Props to Kaufman for a great win.

Was Modafferi grabbing Kaufman’s leg for show as she got slammed? Kaufman was too strong and Modafferi was getting tired I guess. Shouldn’t have gotten slammed.
