I like the gracie stance…it looks so childlike/unorthodox. If you watch the fights prior to this (same tournament, I think) one the referee did not understand what was happening when Royce choked out somebody so he would hesitate to give Royce the credit. Also one fighter denied the fact that he himself tapped so Royce began choking for a long time to make sure everybody was understanding of his superiority.

Royce stopped letting go when I think it was UFC 2, he let go when the person tapped, and the ref didn;t stop it, so after that he finished the fight and didn’t let go until he knows the ref knows. He’s just playing smart. You live and learn. Don’t be mad.

royce doesnt like go cuz of the one fight he had with shamrock. ken tapped and royce let go, but the ref didnt see. but ken was honest to say he did tap and the fight ended

thanks for posting this one.
what struck me was how much the sport has changed in a relatively short period of time.
now the fighting styles seem to be more homogeneous.
back then there was a distinct difference between fighters: the way they were dressed, their stance, the techniques they used to fight.

Hackney is from the next town over from me. When he fought the HUUUGE black sumo guy and won by tko, I had so much admiration and respect for him.
His very next fight he bare knuckle punches austin powers’ body guard random task in the nuts till he gives up.
All that admiration and respect were gone.
