I think the whole MMA community knew the outcome of this fighter before it ever happened. Meathead doesn’t have half the skills he needs to take out Roy. Love him or hate him, Roy is one of the very best heavyweights on the planet. In my opinion he is the single most skilled heavyweight there is. If Roy was built like Brock and kept his ground skills and striking precision, he’d be unbeatable. The power he has from a frame that is better suited to be at 185lbs is astonishing and he seemingly never wastes a shot. Almost everything lands, and lands hard.

fighters underestimate Roy. Unquestionably the hardest chin in HW division and the highest pain tolerance. The keeps coming forward no matter what. I think Matt has some serious athleticism but this was a bad match up for him at this time. Matt has not been working his striking long enough to go at it with seasoned strikers like Roy. HE should have passed on the opportunity and taken someone closer to his skill level like that guy who just lost to the tall Sweed. But props to Matt for risking it and stepping up. Im sure Dana wont fire him – yet.

I was shaking my head at all the love Rogan and Goldie were giving Mitrione while it seemed clear to me Roy’s accuracy and skill was more the story than Mitriones new boxing and kicks. THEN the KO and Rogan and Goldie go to “knockout power” and “haymaker” and “heavy hands”. He’s a very skilled striker and deserved more credit than that

Slam Mitrione all you want but I’m willing to bet he wasn’t the first one asked to replace Carwin. He was just the only one with the balls to step in there against Roy. Nobody in the HW division wants to fight Roy. The biggest reason is because Dana is a douche bag. Dana doesn’t like Roy and doesn’t put value on him, so fighters have no upside to fighting him. If they win, Dana won’t care. If they lose then they will fall to the depths of the division because they were beat by an old fat guy. Problem is the old fat guy has the skills to beat all of them.
